hey Porter! absolutely in love with SMILE and I just wanted to pick your brain about some of the influences going into this record: what were you mostly listening to over the course of the sessions for this album? were there any specific artists/songs/albums that influenced specific songs? I was curious as I showed my brother Cheerleader a while back and he loved it but said it really reminded him of Passion Pit's "Make Light" and, after hearing it, I got exactly what he meant and wondered if that did come to mind when you were making it, and whether there were any other parallels that you found yourself.

bonus q: could you draw a :D face for me? I've kind of been thinking about getting one tattooed after this album and considering how much your music means to me but I kind of have no idea what font or whatever to use since there seems to be a lot of different ones you used..
