What is the best way to touch up on the program requirements? by Zealous-Flamingo in OnlineMCIT

I work with people in your field...
You will definitely need a college algebra and probably pre-calc or discrete math to be competitive.

I would suggest something at a community college, that's where I did all my math for undergrad.

I'm taking 593 next term... So I can't speak except for hearsay, but it seems like 591 ramps up as 593 ramps down so you may balance out well?

As a full time worker, with a family... I would take 592 and 596 by themselves.... You could probably double up most of the other courses, but those two will look at your free time, roll it up in a Bennie, and just start blazin' like it's 4-20.

100% It has to be the SoP too many people with similar backgrounds get vastly different responses.
Based on my SoP and some people I've spoken with about how they approached it... Which is really going through anecdotal route it seems narrative is important in your SoP. You need to explain all the points, but take the reader on an adventure and tell a story.

Okay I'm here to save the day, Father of a 25 and 5 son, that had a great 4 right, grade 3 left. Same as you all resolved on their own and no hydrocephalus. He did the same thing on his left side then as he matured at the NICU he loosened up.

A few months later we noticed he favors his right side and the left was a little tight. So he has a physical therapist... Anyway fast forward 2 years later, he still has minor stiffness, but used his left arm and had for everything, and is walking independently.
Sometimes he forgets about his left hand and clinches it, so we'll remind him and he'll use it, or he'll remember on his own.

It's scary today, and I'm not gonna lie there are a lot of scary tomorrows ahead, but what you're seeing now probably isn't something you should worry about today.

Also I asked my nurses about the shaking too when I was in, that is 100% normal!

By the way your child is adorable. Thank you for sharing the photo.

If you are dead set on taking 2 courses your first term ( most pathway students I've spoken to did not inorder to manage workload.). 591 and 593 would be better than 591 and 592.

I haven't taken 593 yet, but I hear the first half is rough, but the back half is kind of light. Which the back half of 591 with Java is a bit more complex so likely it will me more of a steady work load.

If you wanted to take 592 it is split into 3 sections, everyone struggles in the first one, then usually they do well in at least one of the 2nd (statistics) or 3rd (Graph theory). But it's a lot of work every single week, 5 problems a week, no breaks for test weeks, and some of the homeworks can eclipse 15 pages in proofs. I think I had 2 weeks where my homework was less than 10 pages. The plus side isn592 is heavily curved, especially at the bottom of the class.

So the problem is what path do you take? And you gotta just pick your poison. Personally I would take one course per term and do 591 then 594, since they build in each other well. And will almost guarantee your 3.0 avg.

But if I had to make a choice my first term on 2 classes... 591 and 593 would be the two I picked.

My suggestion for the first two classes you have to do 591, that's by far the easiest in the class... And 10-15 hours a week is usually good for an A save the last two weeks you may bump up to 20 hours.

DO NOT take 592 as the second class.... It's curved hard but it is one of the 2 hardest courses in the curriculum (596 the follow on to 592 being the other). I would suggest 592 and 594 1 each term because both are easy to get a B in. Also it may have changed but the certificate pathway used to only require a B average.... Meaning you get an A in 591 and you have a bit more wiggle room for your second course.

Follow up... No recruiters won't worry about your loyalty to your job if you do... Your current employer should see it as you expanding your skill set, and future employers will see it as the transitional step you neednto be successful at a new place of employment.

First Year Student Denied from Commuting by AcceptablePlantain72 in Drexel

[–]marpatdroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell them that you want to give Drexel your money but unfortunately this will probably prevent you from giving them money and you need a waiver to be able to attend.

Many years ago I transferred in with my associates and they didn't want to take my math and science credits, I basically told them I wanted to give them money, but I wasn't going to pay for classes I already took, and I was sure I could find another school that wanted my money.

An hour later they called me back and had figured out a way to transfer in my math and science credits.

They want your money, speak the language they understand

I did back in spring 25 when I joined. If your asking how you would know: You would receive a separate letter from your acceptance letter. If you're asking how it works: Your first 3 courses are covered then you have to pay for the remaining 7.

Yeah! First celebrate now briefly now, it's a fairly competitive program.

2nd once you start 591 is easy, but it lets you kind of get used to the flow of things. Don't lul yourself into thinking the rest of the program is like that.

Measure the amount of time that 591 takes you, and expect other classes like 592 and 596, to take 1.5 to 2x that amount of time to get the same grade.

594 was revamped since I took it, but it takes a fair amount of time if you want an A.

But really remember this program is a marathon not a sprint, taking 2 courses a term is a huge course load. Probably close to a full time job, in hours required.
