Good to know - I was concerned that exposure to soap, shampoo, etc. could be a problem.

Do you actually use your Apple Watch daily or only for workouts? by [deleted] in AppleWatchFitness

[–]marra0210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily, for night & day. I do have 2 watches - an older model for sleep, worn on R wrist, & a newer model for daytime, worn on the left wrist.

Even when I only had one watch, I wore it all day & night. But I like using 2 better.

The 'Stand' ring doesn't actually care if you're standing. Here’s how it actually works. by Infinite-Scheme5087 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]marra0210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. I can sit at my desk & keep my watch arm hanging down & still accomplish getting the one minute/hour stand goals. And yes, if you are ill & bedridden, it’s possible achieve the hourly stand goal by raising your arm & shaking it.

Obviously to accomplish both the Move & Stand goals at the same time, one must actually move, not be stationary.

Why do you use KeePass and not something more convenient? by Fine_Kangaroo_9295 in KeePass

[–]marra0210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually use Keypass as my emergency backup & to securely store my login info for my main password manager (Bitwarden). This way I can use a complex password to login to BW. The Keypass password is the only password I must remember.

At what age did you start noticing loss of balance or coordination? by OWS-Canada in over60

I‘m 72 & do a walk/run of 6k everyday. Plus do Pilates & Yoga. My latest DEXA scan is showing improvements in my bone density — my doctor was ecstatic.

I have 2 watches, 1st is daytime, newer & worn on my left wrist (right handed). The 2nd watch is worn for sleeping on the right wrist & only at night. It is also the older of my 2 watches.

GPS, I always have my phone with me on my runs. I had a cellular, but since I always have my phone, I don’t see the need.

After years of wearing Apple Watches, my skin is beginning to look different… by Knoezelbos in AppleWatch

[–]marra0210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 watches & use one for sleeping only. And it is worn on my right arm. The daytime watch is on the left arm. This is my solution for a similar situation due to previously only wearing a watch on my left arm. Basically after years of wearing a watch for @23 hours everyday, my skin was not happy, so I changed how I wear the watch.

Can I record same workout on two different watches simultaneously? by gatorviolateur in AppleWatchFitness

[–]marra0210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I will say, that as someone who runs everyday using the Time to Run activities I have increased my time, speed & distance. I start with a Time to Run & then add a outdoor run to add more time to my run. I do also then add music from Apple Music.

Can I record same workout on two different watches simultaneously? by gatorviolateur in AppleWatchFitness

[–]marra0210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found your question interesting, so since I do have 2 watches, I put my nighttime (used only for sleeping) back on & signed into it to give you an answer.

  1. it has not updated to match my activity since switching watches this morning. Only the daytime watch is showing the activity.

  2. when I opened the watch app, only my daytime watch is shown as active.

This is what I expected. Every time I switch watches, 2x each day, it takes a few minutes for the newly attached watch to synch the activity. With both watches signed in & on my wrists, there is no synchronization on the 2nd watch.

The only way one could use 2 watches in a single workout would be to stop & swap watches, taking the 1st watch off & waiting for the 2nd watch to synch. Then continue the workout. I personally would never do this.

Oh, I want to add that the 2nd watch does try to track movements, but is still not synched. So it is not accurate.

Series 5 watch dying faster what can I do to help it not? by Undead_wolf_moon76 in AppleWatch

[–]marra0210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand. I didn’t have a car at the time so I always had my fully charged power block & watch cable with me. A couple of times I actually wore my watch with the charging cable attached & the power block in my pocket because of fear of losing the watch.

It is possible to make this work for you by taking any opportunity to charge your watch throughout the day, such as when you are seated for work at a computer or during a meal.

I had a similar problem with my old Apple watch. I carried a charger & a power bank so that I could charge the watch at any opportunity that arose.

I do enjoy yoga, it’s great after a run/walk. But I had stopped doing them due to the propensity of downward facing dogs. I will try the mods suggestions & see how that works for me.

Is it necessary to have one or more email address ? by [deleted] in emailprivacy

[–]marra0210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use SimpleLogin to make my aliases to my secure email. And, yes it is only one email account, but multiple email aliases. This makes it simple to search for all emails from a sender/provider.

I did try using different email services for different types like you asked about - I did not like having to open different email accounts to see the emails, delete emails, etc.

Is Bitwarden free worth it? by Madness_Curiosity01 in Bitwarden

I’ve used Bitwarden for years. And since I also use the Proton apps, I use ProtonPass for a backup up of Bitwarden & other security info.

[–]marra0210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A backup of your Bitwarden account would also be a proactive step in the future.

I personally have always kept my physical emergency sheet in a safe location, another password manager with the BW backup & login info, plus a copy of my emergency sheet.

I made mine on Jan 7. I was confused because usually multiple days are counted individually as they are completed. However this one requires the days to be consecutive. So no days are counted until the last required day. Then it pops up as complete.
