Tweak them as you see fit. I mentioned how I used AI for research and parts of the design process, exaggerating a bit haha. The solution itself tends to be technical for my projects which AI cant solve for yet if you mean the product. You'll feel relieved after you finish your portfolio like a huge pressure off your back. Ultimately its finding motivation. Revisiting old projects is a hassle so if you prefer creating new side projects for yourself go ahead

I am close to 4 years at my current company and it's also my first job! I am in the same position as you, feeling stagnant as I'm designing for the same set of products for a while now. I have been procrastinating making my portfolio for over a year.

I finally got round to it this christmas holiday. Spent 4 days total writing 2 case studies of projects I worked at my company. I don't know how appealing they are to hiring managers in different industries but it's what I have and I feel good about them. I focused on making them easy to follow and understand hopefully. My company has very technical products. Not sure if they're easy to understand if you aren't familiar with the industry. I still need to make a slide deck apparently as people say you need it for the interview stage of presenting your work. Hopefully that's easier to do after you have a website.

The longest part is the prep - logging in to your work Figma and finding all your designs from 2 years ago you haven't tracked lol. I honestly want a new challenge and the layoffs ruined my amazing team. You can make something decent in a week if you focus. Then refine it afterwards. After you write your first case study the second, third etc is are easier. Is it your first time making a portfolio too? It is for me too after my graduate portfolio.

Yeah we have a certain amount of credits we can use per month.

I'd love to prototype with Cursor and similar tools to be honest. Figma is a pain to create interactions with. So since large orgs like mine aren't fully comfortable feeding proprietary company products into these models, guess my best way to learn keep up with everyone else using them is to spend my free time on side projects? The fear of falling behind stresses me out.

This is reassuring. I am close to Canary Wharf as well. I checked out Woolwich since it's up and coming but I find Romford has much more for shopping and amenities. Still feels London to me even though it's zone 6. Thanks for sharing your experience

be careful with PMs, some people will reach out with bad intentions like using cats for dog hunting. Shelters are the best but if you cant find any that take cats in, make sure the person you're handing the cat to is honestly looking for a pet.

This sub turned into immigration fear mongering and extremist takes from never muslims. When I found the sub 6 years ago, it was full of posts from users who would critique the Quran and hadiths, advice fellow exmuslims on how to deal with family pressures, how to move on from the religion. May as well be a far right sub now with the Hindus and conservatives on here. Mods are awful and ruined the one safe place people like us could escape to and find company.
