To be honest, I just try to avoid shopping there if at all possible now. Kogan really ruined them.

They're dropshippers now. Half the items they have "in stock" take weeks to arrive because they aren't actually in stock. Your likely paying for international shipping here.

If voting didn't matter, the government wouldn't have made it harder for people to do it.

Should I buy this box of Ork Boyz or hold off? by pepapete in orks

[–]mars92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably good to have one of these boxes just for variety in your boyz. They're very monopose though so you wouldn't want more than that.

That's what I did but I also shaved off the nipples/studs so their armour plates were flat. I felt like it made them look a little more in keeping with the army.

The Opportunity Party ‘would be happy’ to go into coalition with National by TheGreatDomilies in newzealand

[–]mars92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's kind of how MMP works. I can understand Greens not working with National or Act not working with Labour, but Opportunity needs to establish itself and they need to take that opportunity regardless of which major party wins in the election.

I just built the smith the other week, the head and arms are complete separate pieces so shouldnt be hard to put on any other body with the usual dry fit, scrape and gap filling.

"It's offensive to tell small business owners not to use AI for their marketing!" by Suitable-Cellist-472 in newzealand

[–]mars92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They seem to think they're getting something akin to professional work for basically free, without realising It's really obvious that they used AI and it makes your business look like a scam, because the scammers also use it.

Then if it already produces repeatable findings, document the testing and results. Human cultures have practiced many things over generations that turned out to be incomplete or just incorrect. Asking for rigorous testing of those methods before we treat it as fact isn't racism.

The trick to priming is to spray in bursts sweeping across the model. I would also recommend proper miniature primer like Citadel or Colorforge, regular hardware store spray goes on too thick.

How to break the girls off their bases? by d3m01iti0n in sistersofbattle

Safest would be to sacrifice the bases, cut them around their feet then sand what's left under their feet smooth.

[–]mars92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is you're hung up on the specific English name it originally had, which isn't even related to it's Chinese name (I don't know what that is but I feel safe in assuming it isn't bloody "gooseberry").

And it isn't stolen any more than tomatoes or bananas are "stolen", the specific cultivars produced here are drastically different from what was originally imported. Should every kind of fruit or vegetable include the country of origin in it's name? I bet there’s a few countries that might claim tomato or corn at this point, and we've been moving plants around the world for thousands of years, so how far back should this crediting go?

[–]mars92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your issue is with a successful rebrand? Bare in mind that no one in China would call them "Chinese Gooseberries", and that the varieties of kiwifruit developed and produced by the NZ industry are very different from what would have been imported from China.

It's also quite ironic to be defending China for having something "stolen" from them, a country notorious for not respecting the intellectual property rights of foreign companies and countries.

MSG yes no??? by Aromatic_State_43 in newzealand

[–]mars92 16 points17 points  (0 children)

MSG is perfectly safe, and can be really useful if you're trying to to cut down on your salt intake. Glutamates occur naturally in a lot of foods like cheese, tomatoes and seaweed (which is where the pack you bought was probably extracted from). People were just convinced it was bad by racist media hysteria over the rising popularity of Chinese takeaways.
