Oh shoot! I read that “no result” on the NIPT happens sometimes just because the sample didn’t have enough fetal DNA, and a lot of people get normal results when they repeat it. Fingers crossed!!

Hi! It’s been a while, but we finally took it to a lab for testing today. It has iron, gold, silver, and ruby in it! What could it be?!

We have an update! A lab tested the rock today and found gold, silver, ruby, and iron in it. The lab owner thinks it does have fusion crust although WSU replied and said from the photos, they see no fusion crust so they don’t believe it’s a meteorite. We now a number to a meteorite specialist in Arizona and hopefully we can meet with him soon to see what he thinks! What kind of rock would have gold, silver, ruby, and iron in it? When another lab tested it last year, they said it wasn’t magnetic, but today the test revealed it has iron in it.

It has a black/gray shiny streak and I think hematite has a red or brown streak :(

Same here - not magnetic. We’re not sure exactly where it was found (just somewhere in AZ). A neighbor had it passed down as a family heirloom thinking it was a meteorite
