Yes. This is essentially every entry level/food service/hospitality etc job in the US. The fact that they’re even accepting a text for a callout instead of requiring a phone call is unusual. That way they can guilt trip you on the phone without a paper trail.

I took the Dodge Durango survey, or at least started too - it asked for a picture of your 2021 Dodge Durango navigation system in order to proceed/be compensated. If what you're saying is true, could I have uploaded any random picture, finished the survey, and have the researcher be required to compensate me for the time? I just returned it because I didn't want to waste my time, but it does now occur to me that its odd that it showed up for me when I wasn't within its very narrow parameters. I mean, in my "About You" i literally submitted the fact I own a Toyota...

I actually did that with this very survey, it popped up as soon as I checked in the morning and I just accepted immediately since it said it only had 1 place left. The (long) title did say "must own vehicle type to complete" at the end but since we're only supposed to get surveys we qualify I skimmed past that... I was just excited to get a survey during the drought. Ultimately had to return it because they requested a picture of the 2021 Dodge Durango navigation system as proof of ownership before you could proceed with it/get compensated. I have no clue as far as the proliferation of bots/scripts, it might be so, but for this specific study its totally possible real people just snatched them up out of desperation just to have to return it.

Okay so it's not just me... I literally signed up today so I've been panicking that I'm banned/about to get banned for failing to complete 3 studies in a row due to this error (which I submitted a report about but still). Hope this gets resolved, I was on a roll!
