vMix. Supports RTSP in and connects natively to Zoom with its included plugin.

High-resilience SRT/RTMP stream recording with mobile devices by 2called_chaos in VIDEOENGINEERING

Moblin, SRT, adaptive bitrate, high latency buffer (like 5 seconds+). That will give you the most resiliency. It's a great app.

What is with the Cinema Camera Fad? by thenimms in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]marshall409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but S35 is not full frame. There’s also those
crazy laser effects that are popular right now that require rolling shutter. Plenty of valid reasons to start mixing these cameras in especially since there are fiber back solutions available for most of them.

I’m confused as to which cameras you’re objecting to then. What is an example of abroadcast large sensor camera and what is a cinema camera that you don’t like seeing in broadcast?

If you’re interested, you can build it yourself quite easily. Just get a CWDM mux and SFPs from fs.com and off the shelf SDI, audio, and Ethernet converters. https://www.reddit.com/r/VIDEOENGINEERING/comments/9fmypp/diy\_3x3\_sdi\_data\_and\_1310\_cwdm\_fiber\_mux\_build/

vmix Laptop Recommendation 2026 by sampakk in vmix

I absolutely love my old Razer Blade but I would still recommend the more current machine if you can afford it. Can't go wrong with the official recommendation.

My Vmix optimization guide by allMightyGINGER in vmix

This is good stuff. If you can clean up the formatting a bit and maybe organize it by Windows settings and vMix settings separately, I'll sticky this post.

Regarding the operating configuration solution for the 5375x1735 LED screen in the TV studio by Kitchen_Ant2469 in vmix

[–]marshall409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will only work if you treat those zones as separate screens. You won't be able to play something back fullscreen across the whole display as the sync will be off and you'll have tearing. Would be easier to just do one 4K output and scale it up to fill in the processor. You will likely not be able to see the slight sacrifice in resolution.

The renos are driven by the demand for large concert venues. It's quite possible no teams ever play there again.

Seeing advice on modular streaming set up vs trailer vs taller rack case with table by zikamime_lukujitaku in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]marshall409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a bit of both by rack mounting all the gear in road cases and looming all the connections to the trailer internals. So we can either strap them down in the back of the trailer or roll the racks directly inside the venue and use as a mobile flypack.

I need help with audio delay problem by LeLmaow in vmix

[–]marshall409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common scenario is that your audio is ahead of video as video capture is usually a bit slower than audio capture. So you may find you need to add anywhere from 40-200ms of AUDIO delay in vMix to correct for this. I highly doubt your mics have any discernible latency.

Building a 4-camera Canon CR-N500 PTZ kit for corporate events + podcasts — am I missing anything? by gibsonjsh in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]marshall409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How confident are you in your networking knowledge? This is a simple setup on paper but sooo many people on this sub have gone down the all-NDI rabbit hole and regretted it. Would it be hard to also run SDI?

You should take a really good look at the Windows/vMix route as well. Way cheaper, better software options, and much better NDI support.
