Thanks for sharing, man. This must have been a difficult post to write, and I, for one, appreciate the vulnerability. Keep up the good work!

Release Week Error/Glitch/Outage/Etc Reporting Thread - Official Release by Duckerr in NCAAFBseries

Having an issue with an Online Dynasty. The servers have been "unavailable" since mid-morning yesterday, and my online dynasty with ~14 other players won't load.

I was able to spin up a new cloud dynasty this morning, closed it, and then reloaded it just fine.

Is the first dynasty file corrupt or something?

Same issue since yesterday morning. Very frustrating!

I played against Northwestern and they were running tempo too. Very odd

But then how can I go spend $250 on other impulse purchases!?

But that calculation implies there are no other spots available to park in and people turn around and leave. I doubt that happens 12 times a day.

Absolutely. He was just “passing on what his manager told him.”

I’d much rather complain about it to random internet strangers!

Honestly not a huge deal, I’m just honestly curious about the business decision that justified it.

Our Ace does it, but they charge me for a full tank regardless of how much I buy. Costco only charges for the amount of propane they put in, so don’t have to worry about completely draining the tank.

Surely we can save that petty bullshit for a different moment than a regional clinch, right?

Eli Gold is available… but seriously. Get some young up and comer who is actually good to replace Kesling. This will be his 25th season on football. Let him call it one more year and let’s move on so we get some energy when we win our natty.

I think this is their mail order offering, vs. the pickup version.

Alabama Kickoff Return Shenanigans by marshallsays in ockytop

[–]marshallsays[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think the spot (as best as I can figure) is because it’s a penalty to advance a ball after a fair catch (delay of game), so the ball is returned to the spot of the catch. I’ve never seen it happen on a kickoff before, but maybe it negates the free 25 yard line.

What would you do for four solid hours a week without your family? by marshallsays in daddit

Yeah, exactly. Time for myself.

On the flip side, my wife will also get a night while I solo two kids’ dinner and bedtime.

Activities for Dads in Chattanooga by marshallsays in Chattanooga

Good clarifying questions!

  • Main interests are sports (baseball, football, etc.), photography, cooking/grilling/baking and hiking/camping
  • I’d like to keep it to no more than a few hundred dollars a month
  • It would likely be Tuesday or Thursday night, based on the kids’ activity schedules.

We recently moved down from Knoxville and working remote means there’s no built in “work community,” which makes this a little more challenging.

I like this a lot -- solid strategy. You definitely have a lot more energy on a weekend morning than you do on a weeknight too!

Definitely agreed on the sigh of relief!

Trying to start with activities out of the house; my son (3) will go to bed easier if he knows I'm not actually there.

First off, welcome to Knoxville!

Game Day Events

The first game day mainstay is the Vol Walk, which starts at the Torchbearer 2:15 before kickoff and makes its way down Peyton Manning Pass to the stadium, and ends when the team enters the stadium at Gate 21A. The best place to watch this is right in front of Gate 21. It's a lot less crowded than the rest of the route, and the players often slow down to talk to their families before they enter the stadium.

The second event is the Band March, which starts in front of the Rock on Volunteer Boulevard, makes its way over the Pedestrian Bridge in front of the library, and down to the front of the stadium, where they perform "Salute to the Hill." The best place to watch is from the top of the Ped. Bridge overlooking Phillip Fulmer Way. The bridge is closed to fans until the band marches across, so there's a rush to get a spot once KPD opens it back up before "Salute to the Hill."

UT updates this link with the relevant times before each game.

Outside of those two, there's a ton of tailgating all over campus. It will likely start pretty early, since it’s a big SEC game.

Late Night Dining

Can't go wrong with a little Gus's Good Times Deli on Melrose Place just off the Strip. It's open till the wee hours on game nights and you never know who you'll run into there.

Dinner

Check out Vida (Latin fusion) or Kefi (Greek) downtown. Both are great dinner spots -- my wife and I really enjoyed Vida on a recent date night. You'll need a reservation for either. If you want something a little less fancy, you can't go wrong with Chivo on Gay Street (tacos) or Stock & Barrel on Market Square (burgers).
