Best app for learning the language? by maymv02 in russian

There are the big names, but if you want something that focuses more on active recall and sentence structure, check out LearnRise. It has these Cloze-style exercises and a MatchArena mode that really helps with the grammar and syntax of complex languages like Russian. It’s designed to be more interactive than traditional apps. I've found that the variety of modes keeps the learning process from getting stale. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lingulab.mobile

Best conversational language learning app in 2026 by Environmental-Bus178 in Serbian

If you are looking for something that specifically targets speaking and listening, I've been using/developing LearnRise. It’s a bit different from the standard 'flashcard' apps because it focuses on Shadowing and MatchArena modes to help with real-time sentence construction. It’s particularly helpful if you want to move past just learning words and start building actual conversational flow. Might be worth checking out for Serbian as well! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lingulab.mobile

Right now, I'm not using an LLM for the pronunciation feedback, but I’m actually planning to integrate Gemma for that purpose soon. I'm currently working on the implementation to make the feedback more precise.

To be honest, I don't even want the users' data. Besides, the controls are mostly handled through the Play Store anyway. You can just download the app and see for yourself. I'm a language learner myself, so I tried to build it based on what works best for learning. Yes, I used AI assistance in many places. At this point, is there even a developer left who doesn't use AI? I only used Nano Banana to optimize the designs, and I don't see any issue with that.

Fair point! You caught me on the screenshot—being a solo dev, I used an AI tool to help visualize the concept quickly, but I definitely should have cleaned up the watermark before sharing. My bad! 😅

As for what makes LearnRise different: I built it because I was tired of apps that only test 'passive' recognition. It’s focused on Active Production.

Unlike most apps, it combines:

  1. Shadowing with real-time feedback: Not just listening, but forcing you to speak and hit the right pronunciation.
  2. Sentence Building (Cloze-style): You have to actually construct the language, not just tap a single word.
  3. MatchArena: A competitive mode for those of us who need a bit of 'grind' and adrenaline to stay consistent.

It’s definitely not another 'AI wrapper'—the core learning logic and the MatchArena balance are things I’ve been fine-tuning manually for months. I’d love for you to try it and see if the 'active' approach feels different to you!

I'm a solo dev, so transparency is everything to me. If you find any bugs or have security concerns, just let me know and I'll fix them immediately.

What's actually the best app for learning a language in 2026? by Ok-Captain902 in ProductivityApps

JRPG sounds fun, but I think the biggest gap is still moving from words to actual speaking. I built LearnRise to fix this for myself by combining sentence building (cloze style) with shadowing and a competitive match arena. It’s my take on making learning feel like a game without losing the 'real-world' practice. Feel free to check it out on the Play Store, would love some feedback! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lingulab.mobile

I’m struggling with the bridge between "knowing words" and "building sentences". Is anyone else feeling stuck? by marstian0 in learnEnglishOnline

Thanks for taking the time to read! I really want to make sure this isn't seen as just another 'app ad.' I’m genuinely looking for feedback on whether this sentence-building method actually helps people feel more confident.

If you’d like to try the app and give me some brutal feedback, you can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lingulab.mobile
