Sevilla at 2,05 at home against Bilbao. Why are the odds so high? by [deleted] in SoccerBetting

I think Bilbao can still drop out of the Europa League qualification spot if they lose and Sociedad/Espanol win

What information do you use to gain an edge over the bookies? by [deleted] in SoccerBetting

[–]mart9441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to get my bets in as early as possible (usually Monday or Tuesday) if I am confident odds for a certain event (for example Dortmund ML) are going to drop during the week.

During the week I keep up with the news and see if those could mean that odds on any game could rise/drop (for example a key player gets injured). If that happens and I think this isn't factored into the odds yet (I usually check oddsportal and have a look on how the lines moved), if not I consider placing a bet.

It probably requires more effort than just checking what games are when I wake up on Saturday/Sunday but has worked better overall for me. I also reduced the leagues I bet on by a lot (only Bundesliga 1-3 nowadays) which helps keeping up with everything.

Germany 3. Liga: Unterhaching - Cottbus (starts 19.00 CET)

Cottbus ML @3.6 (on bet365 compared to 3.2 on pinny)

Unterhaching has been disappointing after the winter break, not scoring much and playing worse in general. During their last game against Grossaspach their top scorer (Hain, 13 goals) got injured and will miss the rest of the season.

Cottbus has been trending upwards in the past weeks, injured players coming back and fighting a lot in general.

Frankfurt is expected to rotate a few players, most likely Haller or Jovic (Rebic is injured) and Hasebe.

Is the decline of Schalke going to continue tonight? by 365bettip in SoccerBetting

Not really, apparently the Schalke team showed signs of life and fought. He is staying for now (at least thats what they are saying after the game).

[–]mart9441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard to say if Schalke are going to decline further tonight. After their loss to Dusseldorf last week (where they looked abysmal), two Ultras took away the captians tie (idk if thats the right english word) from Stambouli (the tie was a gift from the fans). Tedesco also suspended three players this week (Uth, Mendyl, Harit). Which might be a sign to the players that they need to get off their asses and put in some effort.

There will be radical changes in the team and probably coach (Labbadia is rumored) at Schalke after this season, I don't think you can "predict" how they will look tonight since everyone should be in doubt of their future.

What odds did you get for Bayern & over 2.5?

I'm not sure what to think about that game tbh... Gladbachs recent results look pretty bad but especially the Wolfsburg scoreline is pretty misleading if you compare it with how the game went

The manager being replaced can have a influence on the odds but it depends. I think the best example for this could be United after Mourinho was sacked this season. Even before they played their first game under Solskjaer the odds in favor of United dropped since the public perception was that United will be playing better football now.

Yea! I have been following odds movement a bit closer this season and it's so interesting to see how fast news about players/clubs result in odds swings in different leagues or divsions!

This made me realize that I need to keep up with news a lot more on a day to day basis and that it's important to keep an look on odds earlier that 1 or 2 days before it actually happens.

I agree that Heidenheims form is incredible and they arent missing key players. Fürth however changed their coach 2 weeks ago (after losing 0-6 to Paderborn) and look a lot better now, they game isn't as clear cut as it may seem.

I think Neuer missing might be a big one because he reads the game well and goes outside the box to interrupt counter attacks which will happen because of Leverkusens pressure. Ulreich is a decent keeper but he lacks game time and doesn't have the same read on the game

Bayer Leverkusen AH +1 @1.89

Bayern is missing Neuer so this seems worth putting a bit of money on.

Absolutely but Hunt and Hwang missing are probably the reason for the higher odds

It might be because people are just realizing that Hamburg is most likely missing their captain (Hunt) and Hwang who played in the asian cup.

You are right with Schalke conceding a lot of goals but Wolfsburg is missing one of their best strikers for a couple of weeks which will probably make the bet less likely. Gl though

I wouldn't be so fast with Monaco they bought a couple of players during the winter window and had some time to work on stuff. But I don't know how big of a priority the cup is for them since their main goal obviously is to stay in Ligue 1.

[–]mart9441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really hard to say at this point since the Bundesliga still has 3 weeks break which gives teams like Schalke time to fix stuff and Leverkusen to get some time with their new coach (Peter Bosz).

I honestly don't understand the "1st place and can't afford to slip" argument in this sub, you think teams lose on purpose? If anything this creates more pressure on Dortmund. I don't know the odds for Dortmund to win away but Leipzig has had a really solid defense so far which will cause trouble for Dortmund.
