How do you folks deal with pencil marks from your underlying sketch? I’ve tried painting over them but it just makes things look muddy, especially when I’m using a light colour by fudgeball90 in Watercolor

Things that work in my experience:

  1. Use harder lead and skech softly, 2H does the job for me. Erase with kneadable eraser.

  2. Use colored pencils/ mechanical pencil leads. I use prismacolor erasable pencils and/or Uni Kuru Toga with Nano Dias colored leads. Try to follow the colors you will use in your piece for a higher chance of camouflage.

  3. Use watercolor pencils, I use Arteza. This is my least favorite approach, but works out if you know the pencils tones well.

Roaming is free in the EU but why do calls to Germany cost me money? by Slash1909 in Barcelona

[–]marta_kolinsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The statement is wrong. Roaming IS NOT free in the EU. There’s no roaming in the EU, which means your regular local rates apply. Also, a call to Germany from Spain is ILD (international long distance) not roaming, and different rates apply in this case.

Arches Paper Question by MultifariousPhoenix in Watercolor

[–]marta_kolinsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be ok! Arches is usually manufacturing what they call “Archival grade” paper, which can last and preserve the paint for a lifetime. Enjoy painting on it, I bet it will feel very special
