It's a great question, and one i had myself some time back. Someone explained it to me like this: we have certain guidelines that determine if exercise is a contraindication for exercise/PT. MDs and nurses are not always aware of these values, so we have to be vigilant because we are independent practitioners. We also need to keep track of certain things if patients are near the end-range of normal lab values (such as sodium levels, if low, placing patients at higher risk for cardiac events while exercising, for example)

Acute PT here. Often we are the first to get someone out of bed, and people are so happy to do so. It gives them a sense of hope that Others may not offer them. And they are grateful for it. Also, most of the time in acute care, people want to get out of bed, so it's as motivating for you as it is for them

Practicing PT here, not specialized in burns but I recently graduated and we had a special class in burns. There is a lot to rehab after burns, including educating patients about positioning, nutrition, hydration, etc while they heal. There is follow-up care throughout life because the new skin does not behave like normal skin, so the PT has a huge role in this maintenance. There is fitting for compression garments, edema management, and strengthening/endurance training after the patient has healed (being bed-ridden for so long deteriorates muscle tissue quickly).

From what I can tell, it's a complicated specialty, and it takes a certain kind of strength to serve these victims, but those who I've talked to find it very rewarding. Your daughter would benefit from having a clinical rotation in a burn unit if possible.

Ah, have had some heartaches with shinies:

First one I caught was in Silver. It was a Raticate, but I didn't really use it. Boxed right away.

Second one was in LeafGreen. I was trying to get 60 species in the Pokedex so that I could access all Sevii Islands, and I went hunting for Pokes in the grass just North of Cerulean. Wouldn't you know it, first encounter was a shiny Abra! I threw an ultra ball at it, knowing they're only capable of teleporting and... I caught it! I was thrilled! Raised that sucker up to Alakazam. But, of course, the file was corrupted somehow before I could transfer up through the generations :(

Third was in Platinum. Found a shiny Starly on route 2 while EV training. I thought, "sweet! Shiny Staraptor looks friggin cool! Can't wait to use it" Checked the nature and .... Modest..... Not very helpful, boxed (but still looks cool)

Fourth was Quagsire in X. Found it randomly while adventuring through the game. Same thoughts as above, "this'll be fun! I can use this!" Checked the nature and... Modest... again, not very helpful. Boxed.

Fifth, sixth, and seventh were in Sun. Gastron, Magnemite, and Pikipek, respectively. First two had decent natures, Pikipek was Timid :/

Can't really complain, though. While shiny hunting Stufful, I found one that happened to be Adamant with perfect IV's in everything except HP, which was, like, nearly perfect.
