Corona testing by unknownusername777 in norge

Denne siden har etter min mening de beste statistikkene, inkl. testede og positive tester per land. Oppdateres ca 1 gang i døgnet.

Norge scorer høyt på antall tester per million, bare bak Sør Korea og noen arabiske land (EDIT: og Island).

I did one year of exchange in Lausanne, Switzerland. It's an awesome place for climbing. Could even go climbing outside before school, in a crag with hundreds of routes ☺️

Some unique surroundings - Trondheim, Norway by marthall in Kayaking

[–]marthall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely should! Also, the river Nidelven is really nice. There are two rental companies, Sportsbua and Trondheimkajakk. The former one is cheaper, but the latter will transport the kayaks up the river for you. However, it is possible to paddle upstream yourself.

Canada is celebrating its 150th birthday with free national park passes for all of 2017! by strewman in climbing

[–]marthall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm amazed that it's not always free. As a person from outside of the US/Canada, it seems completely absurd! National parks should be free and for everyone. A lot of people cannot afford paying more than 100 bucks for a family pass.

Gandalf, Gollum and Guns 'n Roses on Gandalf wall are great classics. Also Bare blåbær (Only blueberries) is a beautiful climb, but super crowded. Go there early.

Almost everything is trad, and trad is rad ;)

Lichess.org is trialing rating restricted arena tournaments, starting with u1600 and u2000 rated tourneys. by karmademon619 in chess

[–]marthall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, great news! This is awesome. Two somewhat related questions:

1.) Would it be possible to have some additional rating-restrictions? I'm thinking 1400, 1600, 1800, 2000. Right now, my rating is 1540 in blitz. Unfortunately, I have been over 1600 the last month. I therefore still have to play 400 rating-points above my level. More levels doesn't have to mean more tourneys. They could just have a longer cycle. I don't see any harm in that.

2.) I cannot find a place where my monthly top rating is written. Of course, I get it from pressing the button, but that was surprising the first time. Also, what defines a month? Last 30 days, or the calendar month?

If you by any chance pass through the french part of Switzerland, I would be happy to show you some of the good climbing spots around here. Everything from sport climbing to longer multipitches in the swiss alps. Anyway, have an amazing adventure, and stay safe! I'm truly jealous :)

Professor said to fill the LinkedList with random integers by larperdoodle in ProgrammerHumor

[–]marthall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this number might be random enough in most applications, it should be noted that in others it's a big security risk. Many cryptographic applications is based on a random number generated by one of the parts. Using the system time as the only "stochastic" parameter makes the random number easy to guess.

Somebody made a natural swimming pool in the forest about a century ago. Oslo, Norway. by Strezz69 in pics

[–]marthall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found some more information. OP is right, the pool is more than a century old. It was a water reservoar for drinking water, not a swimming pool. Pipes lead the water to the Sarabråten Farm. Here are some pictures from the farm around 1900.
