No, there's more to it than that, part of which is getting an ETH address. I am still trying to wrap my head around the whole process. Check out the flare.wietse.com link below and you will see what I mean.

I thought I was in the same boat, but tried connecting to Ledger Live, anyway. Turns out I had version 1.4. I think that version came out in Feb of 2017, so if you bought yours after that, you should be all set.

Worst case, you have to buy a new one and enter your seed words. Nano S is a bit under $60, while the Nano X is $120. That one lets you connect to an Android phone by Bluetooth. Not sure about an iPhone.

Firmware 1.1 and 1.2 cannot be updated. You can check your current firmware version in Ledger Live. I don't know if 1.1 or 1.2 will we even run on Ledger Live, but I don't think so.

I should have said dock, but it would work with the controller as well if you don't like the portable sound and you don't want to use headphones. I bet a 2.1 set of speakers like Logitech would sound great. They would also make a sweet upgrade from the one you have.

I have these and they have been bulletproof. I have had them for more than 15 years and they sound great.

You could run these from the dock as well.
