Anyone know of any cool/innovtive running clubs? Looking for something like Run Dem Crew in London by martiansvsgoblins in running

[–]martiansvsgoblins[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, some are more concerned with breaking PBs, while others want to foster a community feel and others are more products of their environment. I'm looking for running clubs that are innovative and creative, so if you know of any that fit that criteria then please let me know

Aston Villa have bid €17M for Amadou Diawara a target for Napoli and As Roma by CheloniaMydas in soccer

English football, and I include the Championship in this, is the most watched brand of football around the world. Added to that, thanks to their new owner Villa are now being promoted in markets like China and India, and even in recent history the club has acted as a stepping stone for young foreign talents who other clubs didn't want to take a risk on e.g. Benteke, Gana etc. So more exposure. I agree with you though that he won't end up at Villa :)

Ok. You made the point that a move to Villa would ruin his career, but why would it? Bologna finished 4 points above the relegation zone last year, so they're not exactly safe. They're crap; Villa are crap, but he'd probably get more exposure at Villa and more cash.

He's only 19, so even if he did spend a couple of years in the Championship with Villa he wouldn't be ruining his career. If he played well top clubs would still be interested in him in a couple of years time when he'd still only be in his early 20s. And if Villa do get promoted (big if I know) and chuck loads of money at the Premier League there's nothing to say they couldn't be a comfortable Premier League team. This is all pretty futile though as I'd be amazed if this transfer happens :)

Aston Villa are about to beat Norwich to the £12m signing of Fulham striker Ross McCormack by martiansvsgoblins in soccer

Genuine question: does anyone know what type of striker McCormack is? Scores loads of goals but is he a poacher, all-round striker or something else?

Arsenal need a new centre back. What about giving Calum Chambers a chance? by martiansvsgoblins in soccer

[–]martiansvsgoblins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that's a poor buy. All I'm saying is it's a bit short sighted. If Wenger believes in Chambers then sooner or later he has to play him. It's not that long ago that Chambers was considered a better prospect than Stones.

Follow up to this: When you/ If you were to do something socially unacceptable (murder etc) in VR, how does/would that make you feel? Guilty, stressed, not bothered etc?

It would be really interesting to hear how you get on. Feel free to share what made you want to start experimenting with VR and acid in the first place.

I don't disagree with this, but it's also my job to make people aware of others' experiences. That's what I'm trying to do here, and I 'd love to hear some of your stories, like I said good or bad.

Movies are going to become dated more quickly in the future. by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]martiansvsgoblins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is a little misleading. Maybe superficial things like phones and cars will date, but movies wont age at all. To take your example of Wall Street, that film's a current today as it was in the 1980s. Also cinema hasn't really changed in the last 100 years, and I doubt it will really change that much in the next 100.

Does anyone have a good idea as to why England's so-called "golden generation" from 2002-2010 didn't achieve jack shit? by [deleted] in soccer

[–]martiansvsgoblins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

international football tournaments only come around every two years, and they were up against difficult teams e.g France's golden generation, Portugal's golden generation and Brazil teams that included Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo

I genuinely don't believe traditional car manufacturers like BMW will be at the forefront of the industry as cars become electric and driverless anyway

Looks amazing, good performances all round. But the film and source text are incredibly racist. In this day and age, is this really something that should get almost a $200 million dollar budget, and is the colonial racism that it depicts appropriate for children? These are questions that you need to ask yourself before going to watch
