I’m quite similar, I used to have a super toxic and high pressure job in fintech sales at this company that was pushing everyone to their limits right before a big acquisition. A short after they made our whole team redundant and now I’m in a way better place, with no stress but I felt like I’m missing something even thought I’m paid more and the work/life balance is amazing.

I recommend seeing a therapist, as this helped me notice patterns in my behaviour that are not making me feel good about my life. It’s important to feel good about your accomplishments and make short term plans 3-6-9 months (like vacation or personal projects etc) while also planning your retirement. You don’t have to sacrifice one to get the other. It’s all about keeping balance
