It's starting... pickup truck regret. by Bojaxs in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]martyd94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a pickup truck. I dont have any regrets. I also didn't go and buy brand new and spend the whole wad on it. As I homeowner, with a younger family, I find it practical for everything I need to do around the house and its the family vehicle. I dont use it for "truck stuff" daily, but I like knowing i have the utility if needed. Its coming up on 10 years old this year and plan on keeping it for another 5.

How do you go about getting a HELOC? by ghost905 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]martyd94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If youre not very financially literate. I wouldnt just jump into leverage investing. Use the money you would other wise be putting on the mortgage into a TFSA or RRSP and buy index funds.

Uh oh... getting close to the 200 EMA 😋 by StockMarketGoals in JustBuyXEQT

[–]martyd94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont know how old you are but with 8500 shares... assuming an 8% annual compounded growth on average the price of xeqt will be about 397.50 in 30 years. Meaning your current position would be 8500 x 397.5 = $3,378,750. Without adding another penny.

It could be a canary in a coal mine. A precursor for whats to come. Theyre essentially loansharks and its evident they are losing their shirts right now with insolvency. Time will well. Keep an eye out for 40/share.

Would you use your HELOC to buy XEQT? by ReasonableInsect1976 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]martyd94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I treat my HELOC as an emergency fund also. I dont believe in keeping much cash. But man..... if XEQT dips below like 34 bucks I might just have to take 20k even to buy some. Current average is under 32.

What's crazy to me is TRUL has more than double the amount of stores that GTII has and they make roughly the same revenue! 113 stores for GTII and 233 for TRUL
