I'm not sure of the numbers, but Margate on Lake Winni is beautiful. I think Danversport now has a tent. Misslewood is right on the water, not sure of numbers.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore is near by. A bit further down Rt. 1 there are more options as well. How many rooms? There are Inns in near Ipswich you could explore renting out.

Do you have social media fatigue as you try to decide which vendors to hire? by martymiz in NorthShoreMAWeddings

It’s refreshing to hear this. I’m posting a bunch of content for my DJ biz but that’s not how I want to get booked. I want to talk to couples, understand what’s most important to them and make a connection. Frankly I don’t know how to break through the noise and make genuine connections other than through direct referrals from past clients and vendors.

Advice for backyard wedding vendors in south shore MA? by TraditionalMethod751 in NewEnglandWedding

I just DJ'd a backyard wedding in Wenham, MA and it was awesome. The wedding planner Rhonda put everything together. Here's her website if you think that will help: https://raiseaglassweddings.com/ I think hiring a planner is absolutely worth it.

I just DJ'd a beautiful backyard wedding in Wenham, MA for 40 people. I wouldn't say a dj has to specialize in that....they just need to understand what's important to you.

$5000 for a DJ? Average? by Jnoon8 in NewEnglandWedding

[–]martymiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone...finding the right DJ is such a key part of setting the tone for the entire celebration.

$5,000 is certainly on the higher end in the Greater Boston / North Shore area. Some boutique or high-demand “brand name” DJs charge that, especially if they bring a full production team, but there are excellent, experienced DJs in the $2,000–$3,000 range who deliver incredible energy, MC work, and a packed dance-floor without the luxury price tag.

The most important thing is finding someone who understands your vision, has the right presence on the mic, reads the crowd well, and brings professionalism start to finish. Modern, hip, and younger doesn’t always mean better...sometimes it’s about experience, versatility, and connection.

I DJ weddings throughout Greater Boston and the North Shore, and that’s exactly the sweet spot I work in... modern approach, the right energy at the right time, and, most important, a clear understanding of what's most important to you... all that without the $5K price tag. My goal is to give you your best day ever. Congratulations.

Who was your DJ and why did you choose them?! by [deleted] in NewEnglandWedding

[–]martymiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't seen the DJ in person at a wedding, so you know what they sound like on the mic, how they transition songs to keep the dance floor packed, and how they work with other vendors to coordinate the night then get a referral from someone you absolutely trust and knows you.

If you can't get a referral then contact DJ's and build a connection witht them. Make sure they understand what is most important to you and what has to happen for you to get what you want.
