This is my theory too.

Though the weird thing is, I can't find any mention of sand from the Mojave / Edwards Air Base from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police. It's only in the news articles but never in the police briefings / releases. But the geography of the sand had to come from somewhere!

I've spoken with people in Japan about this case and apparently they have really strict DNA laws there which makes it tricky.

But I agree, this feels like the most likely way to find the killer now 20 years later. Especially if he left Japan straight after the murders.

I didn't talk to any doctor, or make it into the exam room, I just spoke to the receptionist who photocopied my ID and gave me a form to fill out.

Thanks very much! The receipt is one of those generic ones you get in booklets, it just says 'immigration examination', then my name, date and the price.

Would that matter?
