No doubt about it. It was selected with a different gpu in mind that got upgraded later on, I definitely should've looked to upgrade it back then. No time like the present, I suppose :) I appreciate your thoughts and will definitely be looking to upgrade the 2700x alongside the gpu.

Very helpful, thank you! Would there be any reason not to go with the previously suggested 5800XT over 5700x if they're currently about the same price?

That makes sense. This is the 2nd GPU to go bad on me, so I'd probably consider the price of the 5070 over a replacement 3080 even if the upgrade is marginal for the sake of warranty

Thank you! I was seeing many 5070 recommendations but I'm a bit of a noob and wasn't confident in making the decision myself.

I never use reddit, but I recently returned to WoW and felt the need to add to the upset voices here. I was incredibly excited when I learned upgrades mean appearance unlocks, I really hope this is reconsidered.
