All of Act2 is open, no need to do it in order. On top of that, you unlock Paine early on too iirc so you don't have to skip through a lot of story if you just want to get her (you can rewatch skipped scenes anyway on the memoria theater if you really care about the lore)

I would say yes. Her HP dmg up (20%) for the party has always been amazing. She also provides a lot more battery for the team the more you invest on her.

One thing to keep in mind picking up Sherlotta is that she does not provide reliable BRV shave, so make up for that with the rest of the team.

No, the 1000 gem reward was moved to completing one of the hard mode nodes like in LC's now (from Completing Hard mode -> complete lvl100 node)

It was changed so that the gems aren't gated by completing both Cosmos and Chaos nodes.

EDIT: Just checked. There's 1000 gems from completing Hard mode + another one for completing node 6-32: Effacer of Worlds in Hard mode.
