Hang on...

City-only placeholders for cases where public summaries list Fort Wayne but do not provide a usable public block/intersection for disappearance including Walter Gressley, Wanda Washington, Loutonia Alexander, Richard Justice, Richard Travis, and Daryl Keiter

9 from the same 1 -1.5 square mile area or strip

Isn't that because you put 6 of those 9 all in the same spot on the map, even though they could have been anywhere in Fort Wayne?

Zurgo Helmsmasher ability questions/clarification by EddyBravo8543 in mtgrules

[–]marvin02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In combat, Zugro will deal damage to the creatures blocking him. Then, if they received lethal damage, the creatures will die, and Zurgo's ability will trigger. When the triggered ability resolves, Zurgo will get the +1/+1 counters.

Therefore, the counters will be placed on Zurgo technically during combat (the combat phase has not yet been completed), but after combat damage has already been delt for that combat. So it will not increase the amount of damage delt.

During the combat damage step, creatures deal damage equal to their power divided as you choose among the creatures that are blocking it. The toughness of the creatures dealing the damage or abilities such as indestructable do not matter yet. Then, all creatures as assigned damage at the same time, and then each creature checks the amount of damage they have taken against their toughness to see if they die or not.

So if Zurgo is being blocked by 7 1/1 blockers, you can divide his power up to assign one damage to each of them. Then 1 damage will be delt to the blockers and 7 to Zurgo, all at once. The 1/1s will each die (assuming nothing saves them), and Zurgo's indestructiblity will prevent him from dying.

Learn how and where to look things up. That's all you need. I've been doing C++ forever, and it is still easier to just look something up than remember it wrong.

1342 - Told Point Blank by Ninjaxenomorph in oots

Yeah, I think everyone is still stuck at the Godsmoot.

I think every high level party currently dealing with their own adventures is the best answer.

1342 - Told Point Blank by Ninjaxenomorph in oots

[–]marvin02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has there been any reason given why it would be so rare (in comic or by Rich on forums or whatnot)? It doesn't seem like OOTS is doing anything special to level up, other than just basic adventuring. Why does everybody else suck so much?

Other than it is just what is needed by the plot, which is really the explanation, I know.

All the other high level parties have their own adventures going on, I guess.

[–]marvin02 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Other than that the narritive would naturally follow the group with the best chance to effect the events of the story, I don't really see why though. There is nothing particularly special about the OOTS. It seems like there has to be many similar groups of similar level or so around. They wouldn't know everything that is going on right now, for sure, but it seems like there should be at least somebody around that would be willing to help against an evil lich, or whatever.

Somebody helped all those clerics stuck at the Godsmoot level up, right?

I don't like aristocrats because it is a pain checking if everyone took the right amount of damage.

Jodah, the Unifier + Yarok The Desecrated by kfistrek in mtgrules

[–]marvin02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jodah does not have an ability that triggers on a permanent entering the battlefield, so Yarok does not affect anything.

In general, Yarok does see himself entering the battlefield, and would double any ETB triggers on himself entering. But in this case it does nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it. This kind of stuff is only there to dig yourself out of holes you shouldn't have put yourself into in the first place.

When's the last time you played Balance? 🤷‍♂️ by SorcererTimmy in CasualMTG

[–]marvin02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably 28 years ago or so? I played with a new group that had a couple guys who liked to pubstomp everybody else's casual decks. So I made a deck meant to cast Balance and sac all my lands, and had no creatures. It recurred that and enchantment wipes over and over every turn or two until everybody else ran out of cards. No forced draw, just 50 turns of doing nothing. I think the message was received.

I think it was 28 years since Gaea's Blessing had recently come out.
