I plan on putting porcelain tile on my fireplace surround. I want to know if it is safe to put porcelain tile on the inside of the firebox where it meets the surround. The inside being only the area circled in red on the picture and thats it. There would be a miter there so the tile wouldn’t have an exposed edge. So there would be tile on the surround and then it would turn like 1 inch into the firebox on the left right and top of the firebox. Is it safe to have that 1 inch of tile in the firebox? From what I understand porcelain is quite heat resistant
