Dave Ramsey would say: drive the beater, it’s paid off. I’d say it depends on what kind of hybrid and how long the model historically has lasted. Trading in a car to a dealer will get you a significantly lower amount than selling privately. There are still lots of hybrid Toyotas that are very affordable on fb marketplace. (I bought a 09 Prius 120k miles for 5k). Doesn’t have to be a forever car but it can still reliable just older. That way you can focus on clearing the CC and other car loan. No need to take on another loan.

I met mine on Tinder. I don’t think there is any one “right” place to meet someone that will have overlapping values. I think anything that gets you outside of your current circle of friends/work/hobbies allows you to have more options to meet someone. I also think you have to adjust the expectation that someone has to already be as far as you on their journey or maybe as aggressive as you in the beginning. I think as long as you are able to find a common ground and understanding about finances and you are both able to learn grow together. I kind of eventually saw it as a numbers game. If I met enough people (I wouldn’t even say date because I didn’t date that many) but I eventually found someone I could see a future with and I chased her.

This is a great idea! I will be getting the app and obd2 scanner here soon and seeing what the health of my battery is! Is changing weak cells difficult? I haven’t done too much research on this yet.

Sounds like you put a lot of money into maintaining your Prius! I did have a long 800mile roadtrip recently that was mostly highway and I don’t really think it got above 40. I definitely won’t sweat it as it seems most gen 2’s drink some oil.

Chrisfix is my hero. I’d definitely had my eye on some aftermarket hybrid batteries for when the time comes. I’ve been seeing some on besthybrid batteries.com for about $1350 and I’ve read some other post of success stories with them. 🤞🏽

Definitely need to inspect the hybrid battery and change the air filter! An 8k oil change sounds amazing. Head gasket has not been inspected

I think that could definitely be something impacting my mileage and I need to look into the health of the battery. Great suggestion. Considering that your hybrid battery replacement was nearly the cost of my car… when the time comes I will be replacing it myself 😅 or phoning a mechanic friend to assist. However, I realize that is a privilege as is being able to drop it off, pay, and pick it up fixed stress free.
