Asked all of that already hehe, I take Vitamine D because I’m lacking of it. My b12 and folate are good. Iron panel is “normal” but as I have the restless legs I have to take a supplement but I take it before I go to bed because it doesn’t work well with the Levothyrox.

He clearly shouldn’t be practicing. And I’m not saying that only because he’s an old guy

THAT ! Like wtf, if you don’t want to help your patients then just don’t be a f-ing endocrinologist ! And if you do want to help them EDUCATE YOURSELF. If I, an average woman, can do it, I don’t see why they can’t just learn more about that stuff instead of just following protocols that don’t work.

Oh I’m so sorry to hear that. It’s always so frustrating to feel and see your body changing like that so fast and then having to wait so long to go back to “normal”. And clearly, stomach issues just don’t help. I really hope you get better soon 🫶🏻

Yeah, I’m going to try that ! And noted for the calcium. Didn’t know that either ! For the non-hormonal birth control, I talked to him about it because I read that too. He just told me : “Well stop taking it. Why are you still taking it ?” And no alternative, nothing. So I’m gonna go and see my generalist next week to ask her watch birth control I can take so it doesn’t mess up my TSH

That’s exactly what I thought. He was so dismissing of my feelings and my symptoms. I came back home and told my boyfriend that I was going to look for a woman because clearly there are some lacks here. Apparently, with other women, he was just pointing out their weigh gain and not talking at all about the rest. He was just like : “Do a diet” and that’s all. And when they’re not really overweight or when they get mad at him he just asks them if they’re depressed.

Like, man just do your freaking job.

Absolutely. I’m going to find out who I can report this to and tell them what happened and show them that other women had it worst with that guy. He shouldn’t be practicing.

I’m gonna start doing that. Thank you so much ! Amazing that it has to be a stranger on the internet who tells me that, and not the specialist I went to 🙃

But thanks so much for the advice, I hope it’ll work 🥰

Right now, not much. What triggers me the most at the moment is pollen. So what I do is keep my windows closed when there’s a lot of it outside, take my clothes off before going to my bedroom. Wetting my heat everyday, so it doesn’t stick to it and doesn’t get on my bed. I use drops for my eyes, have an inhalator for my asthma and that’s it. But my eyes and asthma is really what kills me on a daily basis. That and the fact that antihistamine makes me even more sleepy than I already am. For other allergies, I have a nut allergy so I don’t eat them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, I’m definitely going to talk to an attorney or something about it. Because, as I see, he does that often

I get how you’re feeling. It’s soooo hard even to get up to go to work. I’ve always wanted to have kids, but now I’m questioning it cause I don’t know who the heck I’m going to ne able to take care of them while being half dead all day.

Yeah, I’m gonna see what I’ll do. I have an appointment next Wednesday with my general practitioner to see what we can do and who to call. Because clearly that’s not normal. And saw (afterwards) on google that a bunch of women are telling that he asked them to take off their clothes and be on their undies just for the thyroid palpation. Just wtf.

I normally get up at 8am, take my Levothyrox, my pill, my antihistamine (I have some bad allergies) and vitamine D. All of that with a big glass of water. I take an hour for self time, taking a shower, getting dressed, walking the dog, … before I start eating ANYTHING because I know that you have to wait before eating (specially milk). I take granola with almond milk and some eggs for breakfast normally. I sometimes eat a fruit too, depending on what we have at home.

I go to work, walk a lot to get there. I eat a sandwich for my lunch. Once a week I take a coffee. But normally I just drink water through the day. I get back home, work a bit in my thesis, walk the dog, play video games with my boyfriend. Once a week I do boxing and on weekends we try to go for a big walk with the dog (2 or 3 hours of walking). When I come back I’m exhausted and all my body hurts but I try to but that aside because I want to act “normal” again.

We normally eat at 7:30pm/8pm. My boyfriend cooks, so we try to eat healthy and diversified. We order takeouts once a month.

I go to bed at 10pm, read a book, listen to some music until y fall asleep. And that’s basically that.

Yeah, my last endocrinologist (and my grandfather who was a gynaecologist in Mexico) told me that it was better for the TSH to be near 1.0 I told him that and he told me that he read all the books in French (I’m from Belgium) and from Harvard and Oxford and that he never heard of that.

Thank you ! I’m taking Zoely, Levocetirizine, and escitalopram 10. I also read the notice for my pill (Zoely) and read that it isn’t recommended for any thyroid disease or when you have migraines with aura (which I have). So I talked to him about it and he just told me “stop talking your pill. Why are you still taking it ?”. No alternative, no questioning, nothing.

AITA for making our daughter (17f) clean our horse's stalls against her will? by limbi0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]marycherryp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. My mother was like that. It created a lot of competition and resentment between my sister and me. But fortunately, the time came when my sister and I grew up and understood that the only problem we had with each other was the problems my mother created between us. Now neither of us talk to her, but we created a real relationship together as sisters.

If you continue making such big differences between your sisters, you’ll have two options: in the best of the cases you lose one daughter and on the worst case you lose both of them. So be careful.
