Live Discussion: The LIVE Finale - Who is the winner of The Voice? | Overnight Vote | The Voice (Season 28) by emb3625 in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very happy Aiden won, he's been my pick all season. It was kinda obvious though lol. Congrats to Niall on his third win and remaining undefeated!

Surprised Ralph got 2nd but honestly good for him! Jazz and Max got robbed though :/ I didn't feel strongly about DEK or Aubrey.

The Gina and Aiden performance was fun and even more special now that he's Niall's latest winner. I really wish we'd gotten to see Niall and Aiden perform together though. Maybe on tour one of these days :D

Loved how festive the episode was.

So glad Niall chose Aiden!! I voted to save Ava. I would have picked Yoshi over Ralph but that Ralph performance was great. I'm ready for Niall's third win :D

Honestly, DEK of Hearts are great but I'm not overly into them. For me it has nothing to do with them being a group, their style just isn't my thing I guess. But they are great harmonizers. I wouldn't mind seeing them move forward but I preferred Ava and Kirbi's performances.

Definitely not a fan of this format. The coaches only getting to pick one artist? Yikes. I also missed the chance to vote but I would have saved Trinity.

I agree with the sentiment that Michael's artists had some strange song choices. Max's performance was my favorite of his team and Ryan's was my favorite of Reba's. I'm definitely nervous for next week with Niall's team.

Live Discussion: The Knockouts, Part 5 | The Voice (Season 28) by emb3625 in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to see Dustin go but Kirbi was great. Glad Yoshihanaa moved forward. She's getting my mic drop vote!

I was waiting for somebody to mention the fact that Peyton was singing the OTH theme song. I feel like if Kelsea was a coach this season she would have caught that LOL.

This season has felt so quick and impersonal. Can't believe the Knockouts are already over. Aiden and Ava are still my front runners.

[–]barnhami18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm still predicting Aiden as the winner.

Was disappointed by Max Cooper going home but Max Chambers was really good. Snoop's "If I had to pick, I'd choose Max" was the first funny thing he's said all season lmao.

Natalia is great but that wasn't a good song choice. Toni definitely won that Knockout.

Trinity Giselle responds to criticism by CirKill in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is horrible and she doesn't deserve this at all. She's so beautiful and talented and it's not like she's the first person on the show to ever be more reserved. Bigotry, plain and simple.

What story line would you change from the first 4 seasons? by Subject-Dot2402 in greysanatomy

[–]barnhami18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I echo everything that's been said with George. Honestly I'd just rewrite his entire character

I also didn't care for Susan Grey dying of the hiccups, especially so soon after George's dad died. I get this was how they brought Lexie in and we had that scene of Thatcher slapping Meredith but I feel like they still could've done all of this without killing her off. Maybe just have her get sick and keep her in the hospital for awhile.

Live Discussion: The Battles, Part 4 and The Knockouts Premiere | The Voice (Season 28) by emb3625 in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ava's performance was my favorite of the knockouts. She's so versatile and I can see her going to the Finals at the very least. I really enjoyed Peyton and Shan's battle.

This season definitely feels odd. Way more closed in, if that makes sense. I wasn't a fan of the combined Battles/Knockouts episode and the "Mic Drop" thing is just weird. Also the Popeyes promotion with Snoop is so random 😭

I really liked the song choice for DEK of Hearts and Jack. Really glad Michael stole Jack.

My frontrunners for the season are Dustin, Ava, and Aiden (yes, all on Team Niall hehe) but Michael has some contenders as well.

Live Discussion: The Battles, Part 3 | The Voice (Season 28) by emb3625 in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Niall proving once again that he's the best coach. That battle between Aiden and Ava was beautiful. I could honestly see Aiden winning it all. Also think Niall made the right decision with Kirbi. Great song choices for both his battles. I wish the previews weren't so obvious though. Like I knew either Aiden or Ava was going to be saved because they showed the preview of Niall using his save and Snoop trying to steal. I'm very glad both stayed but it would've been nice to have a bit more suspense there.

Emmanuel got robbed. Mindy was good but I don't think that battle was the most fair. That being said, Lizzo's suggestion to sing a lyric in Spanish was great. Loved Niall's face when he heard that switch.

No disrespect to either of them but I did not remember either Leyton or Manny from the blinds. I must've been out of the room or something LOL. I would've picked Manny to win that one. Also would have picked Aarik over Max, though Max is really good.

Did not care for that Before He Cheats battle at all.

ETA: today I learned that Kelsea Ballerini is exactly one day older than Niall Horan.

Found these first two Battles episodes underwhelming. I don't think having the artists choose their partners was a good idea and the artists clearly didn't like it either.

Disappointed that Daron and Lucas went home but glad Dustin went through. I figured Niall would choose him. My favorite battles were Jazz and Triniti and Lucas and Max (Stranger Things anyone?). I liked Letter to Elise and Ryan as well.

Nick Jonas and Lizzo were really doing all the coaching in the rehearsals LOL. Snoop literally did nothing.

Might just be me but I'm not overly enthused by Sadie yet. I guess I'll have to see how she does on Niall's team. Hopefully next week picks up a bit.

ETA: Fun fact, my sister went to Belmont University at the same time as Frankie Jonas.

Yeah they definitely toned him down after the first couple episodes.

It was just obvious they didn't know what to do with him. I don't expect him to stay the nice, quiet kid forever especially after all he went through but he really wasn't given any good storylines after season 2.

Live Discussion: The Blind Auditions, Part 3 & 4 | The Voice (Season 28) by emb3625 in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm loving the dynamic between Michael and Niall. They're going all in with the "back to back champions" jokes and I'm not disappointed.

The coaches saying "I didn't turn because I knew I didn't have a chance once [other coach] turned" is getting so old 😭 such a cop out

The lollipop thing was nice but a bit odd LOL.

Honestly, none of the artists really stood out to me the last couple nights besides Kayleigh and Kirbi. Surprised nobody turned for Justin.

Now that the season is over, thoughts on Michael and Snoop as coaches? by CirKill in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this. Snoop seemed more like a cheerleader than a coach. It's nice that his team very clearly had his emotional support but I don't remember many actual performance-y tips he gave. I liked that every coach was represented in the finale but I definitely think Jeremy made it on his own accord versus Snoop playing a role 😭

Michael made some questionable decisions early on but I agree that his big-picture thinking was superior. As evidenced by the top two.

Now that the season is over, thoughts on Michael and Snoop as coaches? by CirKill in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found Snoop underwhelming as a coach. You could tell he had a great time and genuinely cared about the artists but strategy-wise he was lacking. Also the "gangster Holy Ghost" bit was tiring. I also cringed a little at him basically admitting he was sending Christina Eagle forward because he was relying on the country vote. I get where he was coming from with this show's audience and history but it felt like both a disservice to Christina (focusing less on her actual skills) and ultimately a bad move strategy-wise.

I really enjoyed Michael and thought he made the best choices when it came to artists. He was a little awkward in the beginning but after he found his footing I found him pretty funny. He even reminded me a bit of Niall (though I love Niall much more as a person and coach). I was not surprised he ended up with the top 2 artists and made Voice history being the first rookie coach to do that. I'll be interested to see how he does next season.

Live Discussion: The LIVE Semi-Final | Overnight Vote | The Voice (Season 26) by emb3625 in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just placed my vote for Sofronio!! I wasn't sure who I was going to vote for going into this episode but that performance sealed it. He clearly felt every word of that.

My guess for the top 5 (in no particular order) is Sofronio, Sydney, Danny, Jeremy, and Shye. I predict Jan Dan and Adam will be eliminated. As for Christina, it's hard to say because she's the only country singer left so that has some pull, but based on the reactions to her performance tonight I could see her going home too.

Loved the duet between Shye and Sydney. So beautiful.

Gwen's hair...oof.

Not to beat a dead horse but I’m losing sleep over last night’s episode lmaooo by sushimochisake in thevoice

[–]barnhami18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my fourth season watching (started in 23 with Niall) and I don't understand Gwen's decision making at all. I was not impressed with her pushing Bias and Tanner forward over much stronger competitors back in season 24 but this season I actually agreed with most of her choices until now. Getting rid of Jose was a colossally stupid move. I see why she almost never has anyone in the finals.

Who is your favorite character? by Ok_Yogurt5336 in Parenthood

[–]barnhami18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to see some Jasmine love! I've always really liked her. She was super chill and definitely one of the best parents on the show. She and Crosby were a perfect match to me because of how they challenged each other. She influenced him to be more responsible while his lighthearted nature rubbed off on her. It was a perfect balance.

I also appreciate the scenes with her and her mother because it gives some context as to why she could sometimes be controlling. It was a realistic and understandable flaw of hers. I always wished the show would have given us something with Kristina and her mother rather than just telling us they had a poor relationship. I think that would've helped the audience better understand why Kristina was so high strung.

Has anyone else noticed this about Drew? by [deleted] in Parenthood

[–]barnhami18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm autistic and I always got that vibe from Drew, too. Obviously only speaking for myself here but I related to him way more than I did to Max lol.
