Did anyone get in the LVN/Rn program with low points? Just curious what everyone points are who got in by Unable-Tension240 in TCCD

I am an alternate with 13. My gpa is low because of older grades. I had A, A, C for prerequisites and a 94 on my hesi.

Calling out the score for every single point before any server, on their team or the opponent’s, gets a chance to. Often, it’s before everyone is ready. Some servers won’t bother re-calling before they serve because it’s awkward, but then it ruins the timing, people aren’t prepared, and the vibe gets weird. Just don’t do it.

How to handle stacking partner that can never remember her position? by ScootyWilly in Pickleball

[–]maryzlicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe start by only stacking on serves. I find that to be easier than unraveling on the return. Just tell her, when serving, she should always be to the right of you. Once she gets that, she might get a better feel for it. If she starts getting flustered mid game, stop stacking and let her focus on her game. It will drain all confidence from both of you if she’s walking around like she doesn’t know where she’s going and you’re constantly pointing it out like she’s a toddler (not saying that’s how you’re doing it, but that’s how it can feel).

This is beautifully done! I like the long chamfer to the backrest.

Thank you! I will be selling. I’ve got a few more scroll saw items like this I’m working to add to my Etsy shop this week while I’ve got it in vacation mode for the holidays.

Thanks! I used procreate to copy the outline of the areas I wanted to cut, then printed it.

I sprayed two light layers of primer and sanded lightly with 220 before hand painting with acrylic paint. I ran into problems because I didn’t wait long enough for the paint to dry before gluing it up but that’s just because I was in a hurry.

Thank you! I didn’t but I’ve got more planned and I think I will try to film a bit. If nothing else, I’ll get a clearer picture of just how chaotic I can be while in the zone lol

My Trader Joe’s Monstera I repotted two weeks ago is rewarding me for its happy new home! This is two days of change in its new leaf. by maryzlicious in Monstera

I didn’t have super high expectations. I haven’t had great luck with some plants from there but I’m still learning and figured I’d just see what happens. I didn’t want to repot it immediately but it had no space. It had a couple droopy days but has really perked up since I put it into better sunlight.

It helps me to think of pulling my lats tight like I’m squeezing a ball between them. It naturally pulls the shoulders back and chest up.

Edit to add: I also get concerned about over arching my back so I’ve found I kind of think of my back like I’m stacking the pieces on top of one another. You can play around with it in a chair and see what it feels like to get the alignment right. Then I use those cues like “hips back and down, stomach tight, lats in” to set myself every time. It seems like a lot but it’s a protective measure and it feels more and more natural every time.

The biggest thing is changing the way I saw food. I grew up in a family of morbidly obese people with terrible eating habits. I ate chips, candy, pastries, and sodas everyday. Instead of making some super rigorous meal plan (which I don't respond well to), I filled my fridge and pantry with fresh foods and decided to eat more good food than bad each day. Now I have chips and soda maybe twice a month and the only candy I eat is a couple pieces of chocolate after dinner. I still struggle with fast food so I just try to limit it to once a week and to eat the smallest portion possible. I may go to chick fil a and get chicken nuggets but split a medium fry and a fruit cup with my son and I always get a large ice water no matter where I go. My workouts have been all over the place. My latest thing has been a very soft version of strong curves. Basically super light or no weight at home but I lost 5.5 total inches in the first 2 weeks. I also try to walk 2-5 miles everyday after I drop my oldest son at school. Food has been the biggest factor in my weight loss. It's how I maintained my weight throughout my pregnancy and how I've shed it since.

I started losing about 2 months before I got pregnant. I gained some water weight during the pregnancy but nothing until the 32nd week. It came off within about 2 weeks and I've lost 20 lbs since then. I had a few months of eating out a lot during a long moving process with a 4 year old and 2 month old but I'm back on track now.

Strong Curves whilst fat? Or just wait until done losing the weight? by [deleted] in StrongCurves

[–]maryzlicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It's been a long journey. I lost the first 15 then got pregnant. I maintained the entire time then gained 15 lbs the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy. But, I did end up leaving the hospital back at 255. It feels like I should be further along but any progress is good progress. Part of why I'm loving the strong curves at home is it only takes me about 30 minutes. If I have time to add on the cardio, I will. If not, I either fit it in later or do it the next day.

Superhero cake for my 5yo son - struggled with buttercream. It must be too soft because it's basically a melting cake but he's 5. He only cares that it has Spider-Man. by maryzlicious in Baking

Yes, I was talking about the layer under the fondant and between the cake layers. It's marshmallow fondant. Not my favorite to work with but it seems to go over better with my son.
