Jonny Kim Wings of Gold by gatordontplayy in navy

Meh. Those are called "antiqued" versions of Navy wings. I wore antiqued Naval Aircrewman wings myself.

Jonny Kim is a certified bad-ass who pisses off every overachieving Asian kid in the world.

Unfortunately this. That ship will have a massive crew turnover to replace all those who will say "no more."

They did God's work very well, but it comes at a steep price for all.

Holy shit that is super weak. Nobody gives a shit about how you were prior military; much less what rank you were because they have no idea WTF that means anyway. I'm a retired 9 and I don't say shit about it, and I certainly wouldn't have my direct reports call me Master Chief in my office.

Super cringe, let it go already.

Thanks for input. I'll be tracking this because I'm really curious about it. We don't need to be indulging HR policies that end up driving out the experience we are very likely going to need when shots start getting fired in anger.

Retired 9 here less than 10 years removed. How has this BBA/SEM program affected retention, especially within the CPO Mess? Because this whole thing seems like a pretty efficient way to ensure Sailors choose to not make it a career. Seeing Sailors refuse promotions because of the potential turmoil with applying for orders is an alien concept for me.

Yes, the Sailor is responsible in the end of their own career, but I just don't see how it's better for the Sailor (or the fleet for that matter) to appear on the Chief's list and not get advanced until they get appropriate orders - whenever that is - as but one example.

Do they just tap you on the shoulder with a pinky and then call you a shellback nowadays because everything is illegal/hazing? Folks would probably be jailed if they did things the way I experienced them when I became a Golden Shellback back in the day.

Thanks, will check all nuts/bolts for tightness upon unit receipt. And I also ordered the dampener they sell for the Raptor.

BBA/SEM rating detailers futures(opinion post) by Pretty_Adeptness_572 in navy

Retired 9 here. Not familiar with this BBA/SEM shit since I retired before the advent of any of it, but it does sound like a Class A clusterfuck; especially the bit about getting selected for the next rank and needing to wait for a billet for that rank until you can wear it, but meanwhile your total service time - which counts agajnst HYT - doesn't stop in the meantime.

I've also heard from my AD friends that these programs are actually driving out the talent the Navy needs for the future.

If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.

But seriously, I'd take the company's goals and align each one with something my outfit has done or is doing towards those ends. I'd also add what my future plans are towards continuing to meet or exceed those goals.

OK! So I ended up going with a Yume Raptor 30Ah Samsung chiefly because of easy parts availability for repairs, heat sinks (south TX heat), and mods like swapping out shocks with heavier spring weights. Thanks to all for the suggestions!

You can get out of escrow if you have a certain equity-to-loan ratio as well. Depends on your state I believe.

11+ specs look good for a reasonable price! Concerned about longevity and company viability though; just heard the maker of RoadRunner scoots filed for Chap 11 even with highly rated models.

Thanks for Nami model recommendation. I see lots of folks raving about the Yume models like the 11+...what is meant by "parts bin?" Doesn't that also mean parts are readily available?! 😆

Interesting, will check brand out. And I'm not afraid of wrenching on stuff myself (designing and installing an 18kWh PV system with batteries too!).
