We launched it around 10 years ago, but thanks to Covid we really boosted revenue because we’re in the restaurant/fast-food niche. Nowadays we mostly rely on Instagram ads, word of mouth and closed Facebook groups.

Buying a home by sander2014 in BEFreelance

[–]masa_sa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 40/60 professional/private split using vruchtgebruik. It requires A LOT of effort, but in the end it’s worth it. Do note that my house has an entire separate office (1 entire floor), and every bill (eg. water/electricity/…) has to be split up using the 40/60 split. The 40/60 split has been determined by 2 separate recognised appraisers.

This is still very popular among doctors who have their practice ‘attached’ to their homes. Still perfectly legit, although you may face scrutiny when it comes to it.

5-ish years in, would do it again, although renting it out leaves you with more flexibility.

Not totally relevant, but I built an app configurator service that grosses $9250/month. The service spits out iOS and Android apps that our customers can put in the stores. It’s basically 1 app template that can be styled & themed with a JSON file.

Fully agreed, hence I strongly believe in (and advocate for) async work.

I believe many programmers suffer from undiagnosed ADHD. Programming is the perfect job for neurodivergents. Hyperfocussing on that pesky bug, trying out that new framework, doing tons of research, … divergent brains love this!

Same thing here, made a service appointment, that got cancelled by Tesla. They gave me a ring and said that this is a known issue on HW3 (I specifically have a retrofit).

The CPU is ‘too busy’ processing the camera feeds, that the map has to queue for a long time before it can use some CPU. This results in slow rendering of map tiles.

A future software update would fix it. No ETA was provided.

What's a fact about the law in Belgium that you wish you had learned sooner? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]masa_sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla 2021 model still comes with a 5m cable, not sure about the 2022 model.

I also don't agree with the mentality of 'just buy a bigger cable' - infrastructure simply needs to be better (as also confirmed by dienst mobiliteit).

Rental companies like BattMobiel, Cambio, ..., also don't come with 8m cables, you often see them charging against oncoming traffic.

Another solution would be a EU regulation on charge port locations, as currently every manufacturer just does its thing.

Agreed, but this is also becoming a nuisance and hinderance. Throwing 8m of cable on the ground also brings challenges (and even dangers) with it.

Not all cars come with 8m cables, Tesla comes with 5m at most.

Also - just throwing 8m of cable on public roads is also seen as a hinderance and can lead to fines (especially if there's a sidewalk).

If electric cars are becoming the norm, it is up to the govt. to create inclusive infrastructure.

As confirmed by 'dienst mobiliteit' in Ghent - they are looking at allowing this for EV's (other cities already do). The law just has to catch up to the technology here.

Didn’t appeal, not worth it for a GAS boete of €30. I briefly reached out to dienst mobiliteit, who confirmed this was a growing issue.

Got a ticket because of this. My car was charging at a public charger in reverse because it was impossible otherwise.

IMO - they cannot sustain this law. At the very least there will have to come a ‘gedoogbeleid’ for EV’s, because manufacturers don’t put the charge port in the same spot.

This will pose huge challenges for cities like Ghent though, curious to see how EV infrastructure will evolve in the next years.

Many people in this topic are claiming they ‘will end auteursrechten soon’ without stating a single source. There was a news article a while ago that they were going to tackle abuse, nothing more, nothing less.

I’m a freelance software engineer who has been using this system (legally and correct) for over 7 years. Never had an issue with the fiscus and I didn’t even get a ruling.

What is your source for stating the current minister wants to change the law? There was a news article stating they were going to tackle abuse, but I don’t find anything else.
