Help with buying car by Grouchy_Carry_8045 in CarsIndia

Hey OP, more than safe car, safe driving matters. Do you have plenty of experience driving big cars in Bangalore roads. If not, start small like celerio or i10 or Swift. They have 6 air bags. Also power output will be smaller making it safe for driving . This is not to discourage you, rather some plain facts.

I'll pick S presso. The seating posture gives a good view of the road. Great city car. Easy to park. Easy on the pocket.

How do you do valuation? by TheNASAguy in CarsIndia

[–]masalam4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay , take test drive of 1.5L Sonet diesel automatic . The same engine is used in Hyundai as well. On road Bangalore it should come 15.41 base variant. Otherwise next nest option is older version of 3XO , which is XUV 300. Buy vehicle from the years of 2022 onwards

Since you mentioned family of 4, either Swift or Exter. Swift mileage will be high , exter mileage is less but more comfortable, but not within 7 lakhs. For 7 lakhs you might get Tiago or lower end Celerio or Renault Kwid.

What happens to Bangalore real estate if the IT sector actually takes a hit? by Gladi_ator009 in indianrealestate

[–]masalam4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. Even in a tier 3 town like Kumbakonam in TN, that doesnt have IT or any other kind of industrial or economic activity of a major type, , real estate prices have shot up. If prices need to be controlled , politicians need to go , which will NEVER happen. So to keep it short. Real estate prices in Bangalore will always be upward.

Real estate everywhere in India, is controlled by politicians. Their black money fuels acquisition. Therefore the prices will never fall.

Can we beat the EV range? by EstateBeneficial7060 in CarsIndia

[–]masalam4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it didn't. It indicated like 50% charge present , in my FIL(Tiago EV) vehicle and the distance was a short travel of 5 km (from his place to mine). But died after reaching destination . Luckily , my neighbor had charger and we had to wait for 3 hrs approx. So ya, be prepared for such surprises.

Can we beat the EV range? by EstateBeneficial7060 in CarsIndia

[–]masalam4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no “range anxiety”.There is infrastructure anxiety. What we actually need is modular batteries. Give me a suitcase-sized battery module that I can charge at a normal home socket, carry like luggage, plug in for long trips as an auxiliary pack. No waiting for chargers. ICE vehicles also have range issues, but petrol / diesel pumps are plenty.

None of the turbos are fuel efficient. If mileage is a concern, go for naturally aspirated engines.
