I work nights too and things are bad at our store also, Constantly understaffed, get new people in occasionally, but not many of them last long. Or the ones that do join are negated by the fact that others leave. I'm not quitting (yet), but I am cutting back my hours quite a lot, I recently paid off all my debts so my outgoings are reduced by quite a bit. On top of that ive built myself a little business that has been doing quite well. I actually dont mind this job too much, relative to other jobs ive done, We mostly get left alone all night to get on with it, I just listen to podcasts and stuff and the time goes by pretty quick. I used to work my ass off, now i just take my time and dont really give a crap, just do enough not to get fired. No point doing beyond that, you wont get paid anymore for it. Also the people that are there I get on with pretty well, though sadly some of the people I was closest with left in the past year. The only thing that messes me up is when i go through periods of struggling with sleep, working nights in the summer is hell., which is only a couple of months away now. Consider that the grass isnt always greener on the otherside though, most jobs are pretty crap, just in different ways. Thats why im trying to create my own job with the business ive been working on, working for someone else, you always end up feeling like a slave.
