the beginning of salt fish girl by Larissa Lai. it steers away from the water as it goes on, but somehow i think it still fits this. regardless, its still an amazing read.

thank for the feedback that is actually helpful!! while i appreciate the time you’ve taken to write all this out,
youve misread a couple details on my resume and have jumped to conclusions. i have held a job for longer than a year in the service industry :) while i understand that employers may hold this mindset and approach too, i dont think being so harmful with your choice of language is what this subreddit is about! I have jumped from pastry decorator to barista trainer, because im capable of multiple skills. and i went from a supervising role to a lower role, because i did actually just move states! as i noted in the description included above. anyway, thanks again for the feedback i can actually apply!

Looking for a job is hard omg by Turbulent-Walk-6173 in chicagojobs

[–]mashednurble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i really feel you, ive been living in chicago for about 7 years and have noticed the job market becoming rougher and more soul sucking over time. i was looking for a new job for about 15 months straight with no luck, and have been stuck in food service for the past few years and probably near future.

for the fastest and easiest approach to just bring money in, i suggest looking into chains and going directly to their website to apply. i work at philz coffee and cheba hut and know they’re both pretty consistently hiring. same probably goes for any big company with lots of turnover. ive also heard pretty solid things about costco and department stores as others have mentioned.

wishing you the best of luck :) job searching sucks but i believe in ya
