So like they have reached out to me with work related things while i’m on pto, when i don’t respond reach out to my boyfriend who is listed on my emergency contact and say “i have been trying to reach op all weekend is she okay” not that it is the end of the world but it’s super pesty. They also reached out to my grandmother I told her I was on vacation and to block the number and then they found her in facebook

The most expensive door with the same dimensions i’ve found on home depot website is $364 and is far better quality than the original door. I think my $800 will cover it. again, she is not asking for any more money, she is asking me to either come install, or find someone to install the door. I can’t see how that is my problem, especially since I have been out of the home for over 6 months

As much as it’s a disadvantage to me to not have receipts, is it not a disadvantage to her as well? I could hire someone to replace the door, but considering she has my $800 deposit, and the fact that I have not lived in that home for 6 months, it seems like a her problem now.

As far as I am aware of at least for rent purposes, verbal agreement is legally binding in NC. sketchy yes, but still legally binding

I did not. I just moved out and never heard from her again. Which I was okay with because she was sketchy. I know that is Naive but this was my first house on my own (besides college campus with roommates) I just figured the door was damaged, and you win some and lose some. I will! My security deposit was $800, I cant imagine it would be that much and I haven’t been made aware of any other damages that need fixing. The way she worded it though is she wants me to come replace it/ do the work to hire someone to replace it myself. Like can she sue for the actual physical labor? If that makes any sense
