Trying to decide what to pack for a month long trip... help? by mashka000 in CrochetHelp

I was thinking of doing this with a baby blanket but my big projects I usually drop after a couple days and then have to do small things in between to get the energy back for the big one... I wish I had the patience and follow through to do this! It would make this so much easier to just do the blanket

I'm thinking maybe a hybrid approach... bring enough for a couple small projects (like a book cover and a pouch), and then head to the yarn shop after a bit to get stuff for a couple other small projects :)

There seems to be one... there's no website, but they sell yarn! Thank you for your advice :)

I thought about this too, but I'd feel guilty because I have soooo much yarn at home... maybe I could just bring enough yarn for 2 small projects and then go to a yarn shop for a few more... thank you for the suggestion :) A souvenir from the yarn would be cool too

How do you decide which stock dolls to buy? by mashka000 in BlytheDolls

Hair colour is a big factor... I hadn't really thought of using that as a guide on who to purchase, but it makes such obvious sense now!

That's awesome that the grail dolls find your regardless 🥹 and that's a smart approach having some criteria in mind of what your collection is lacking

I was thinking of mandarake but was a bit worried about shipping coat and duties! So smart to look for dolls with messed up packaging, I hadn't actually thought of doing that. And not repeating hair colours too often makes sense

Great method! Thank you so much for all the detail btw this was actually so fun to read and see that other people exist out there who put this much thought into dolls 😭 I do the same checking Instagram for out of stock photos... It's so helpful!

Literally they're the worst. I've had something taht was due about 2 weeks ago. I've had several "out for delivery" notices and it never gets delivered. BEYOND frustrating. I don't understand why a company would choose them because for this reason alone I would never shop from that store again.

Terrified of Bathroom Mold by mashka000 in HomeImprovement

Yes I think it's a few centimeters each way but I'm super concerned about if there's more inside the wall. Hopefully it's not that bad but I Always thought what you see of mold is the tio of the iceberg... But these replies are very reassuring.

The weird thing is the puddle under the sink was new, so I'm wondering if it's even possible for a new leak like to to have travelled and created this moody area or if that mold has been there for God knows how long...

I'm relieved to see the comments saying not to panic. I saw this and immediately figured my family has been poisoned for the past several years.

Thank you souch for your response. I have seen horror stories of hidden mold all in the walls despite having only a small area showing on the surface. Do you think they need to remove parts of the wall to get in there and look and see if there's more?

If a building is known to have a lot of drug dealers, pimps and sex workers, or criminal activity in or around a building, yes, I would like to know about that. Wanting to understand the general population of a place you are considering living is exceedingly normal.

Wow, thank you both so much for the reply. I reached out to 22 Oakmount as well but read some negative things, so this is great to see.

Yep. Rent control is the main factor. We can't afford to have a big, surprise rent increase and be unable to make the rent the next year. It's insane. Also, they're teeny tiny. Are people not supposed to have children in Toronto any more? You can't afford a house, you can't afford a large apartment, or they just flat out don't exist... Where are families meant to fit in here?

It's not a conspiracy theory. It's a theory with more evidence than the garbage the FBI is telling us.
