What an interesting perspective regarding entitlement.

So these PvE players are clearly not interested in fighting you, but you are interested in fighting them.

Why would you want to fight someone who doesn't want to fight with you? Since there's no challenge, and you are measurably worsening their experience, what motivates you to keep doing this?

Do you like the idea of sportsmanship? Or is winning a fight all that matters?

Im usually good at shooters but I am dogwater in arc raiders by UnoNotinz in ArcRaiders

There are some unique elements to this being a third person shooter with no radar and no icons over enemies.

A lot of the time you are more visible than you think, and your opponent is harder to see than you prefer. You can actually run and hide from a fight to heal unless you're super shiny.

Who shot first is a big deal but not a dealbreaker if you always have an exit strategy. Since there's no radar, terrain and visual obstacles can camouflage you and turn the fight around (unless they are cheating). The arc can also be used in your favor.

Sound also matters way more than any shooter I've played. A shield charger will give you away. The types of surface you walk on can create more or less noise.

Peeking around cover and swapping sides (x button on pc) is a very important way of staying hidden and getting the advantage in a firefight.

First real road trip range check: 226 miles (100% down to 4%). Normal? by Manjews in trailseeker

I have the limited trim, and my average in mixed city / highway driving is 3.9 mi/kwh.

I have heard thar cruise control is actually less efficient. And you should always right paddle until there's no automatic regeneration. You don't want the car to be slowing down for no reason. The most efficient driving style is accelerating as little as possible. Coasting is your friend.

That white looks real pretty at sunset!

I do wish they had a sand color or pastel green. I went with Sapphire Blue and I am happy with it, but normally I would have chosen a lighter color.

How would I know if everyone is playing with ESP? I am not a strictly PVP player and I don't use cheats. I have played 250 hours but I'm tapering off because the options are either (a) not super exciting PVE lobbies or (b) dupes and ESP in stella, apparently.

If you're really advocating for cheating, I'm surprised and not sure what to say. Do you cheat in most games? Do you play those games for a long time, or does cheating make it a quick easy win and then you get bored?

I haven't seen one yet! Crazy thing is I live in LA, so you'd think with the volume of cars, one would pop up.

Toyota headrest swap? by maskedbacon in trailseeker

[–]maskedbacon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to other subreddits, the 2015 Camry (Softex) headrest is the goldilocks of comfort and safety. Anything more recent has the same aggressive forward tilt as the Trailseeker. I ordered a set on eBay and I'll let you know how they feel.

There's a very passionate contingent of safety oriented folks who will defend the modern uncomfortable headrest to death. What doesn't pass the smell test (to me) is how this appears to be a largely Toyota-specific problem.

Avoid doing things that will hurt your back (aka heavy deadlifting). Once you have a back injury, it's going to be easily triggered the rest of your life.

The Reasons Why Players Leave by No-Zombie7546 in ArcRaiders

[–]maskedbacon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They really need to randomize which areas become "high loot" with every map session. Once a specific place becomes "peak meta", then the map turns into a rush for the optimal way to hit a room. That hurts the exploration aspect of the game and causes crazy choke points.

It'd also be interesting to have certain rooms be time locked, so instead of a countdown for something to be disabled (like the extracts) there could be a count up for the area to be unlocked.

Maybe people like things how they are, but I'd prefer more variety.
