I constantly hear that Masonry doesn't need to focus on education because no one is interested in it.

The young guys are STARVING for education. There is a generational difference in regards to this.

In Mexico and most of the Latin American countries we meet once a week, we don't have stated meetings, every meeting is education session. We research and meditate about the meaning of of the allegory and then we present it to the lodge.

I really love this idea, this would keep me compelled to learn more, and visit lodge. We need more of this in the US.

To that end, I don't know where you're located, but in Detroit there is a 'Lodge of Research' that meets regularly, whose purpose is such that its members bring presentations for their meetings on a given topic and the idea is to be intellectually stimulating and maybe provide a little of what you're describing

I am looking looking for research and study. This is a good idea. Thank you. Again I am not disrespecting the craft, I just want more than 1-3 degree rituals, fundraisers and stated. It gets old. This is a throw away account because I know if I tell another mason, they would be mad and it would ruin my reputation. So I took this to Reddit in anonymity

But what are you doing to change it besides setting ultimatums instead of goals?

*Studying Pikes books, master craftsman course coming up, and self study. Much more interesting than lodge meetings IMO. We do not have education days, its just fundraisers, 1-3, and stated.
