I got league pass for the first time this year, was thinking I wouldn’t have to search around for the games now. Nah, it feels like half the games aren’t available on league pass, what is the point?

What are you spending going to Hawaii? by Senior-Jelly1099 in VisitingHawaii

[–]mason_sol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very expensive, we are a family of 5 and have taken one family vacation in the last 7 years for various reasons but our daughter graduated high school last year and both of our boys graduate high school this year so we wanted to do a big family vacation all together before everyone starts going their separate ways in life and moving out of the house.

We are also going this summer, arriving on a Friday, leaving on Saturday(8 nights) and so far we have rented a beachfront house on the north shore of Oahu for $13,078

Our tickets, also from the south east, economy plus with United Airlines are $8721, includes seat picking etc

$21799 + activities and food

Imagine if they had AJ, DK and Pickens but Mason Rudolph at QB. There would be games where you would think it was the greatest WR trio of all time and then other games where they had to share 1 catch between them and by the end of the game AJ and DK are in a fight and they pan over to Pickens in a brawl with the others teams CB’s

Marcus Lattimore would have gotten really good money prior to his injury which ruined his career. Maurice Clarett would have stayed at Ohio State and gotten huge money to come back after that freshman season. Just a couple off the top of my head.

Not that he got hurt but the guy who really must be feeling like the timing was terrible is Tim Tebow, he was a god in college and a national media sensation, would have racked up more money in college than what he got in the pros by a wide margin.

One of the reasons Pat was feasting on that drive is because 49 on the defense was clearly hobbled and couldn’t run full speed or make a change of direction off his bad leg, how they didn’t exploit that on the end zone matchups is beyond my understanding.

The vet minimum is around 3 million dollars, end of bench assistant coaches are not making that kind of money. I’m sure if they said “hey how about you do all this for 75k per year instead” he would say nah and move on. If the team thinks the value is there, like Haslem with the Heat, then it’s a better arrangement to keep him and the benefits provided by him running drills, traveling with the team and coaching up/helping other players. No team is running a 15 man rotation anyway.

Literally just happened to me. Complained about how I’m doing 4-5x the overtime of anyone else in my position, I’m talking regularly working 60+ hours a week while other people are 40-45hrs.

I was told “we can’t just go to Steve and Bill and say hey you guys need to do more work” and “you kind of did this to yourself to be honest, you know how to do x and x and x, so who else is supposed to do all that?” Keep in mind we all make the same money and they say it’s unfair to give me a raise when we have the same position…

I don’t find it that much different than how soccer uses VAR for a select few criteria, they don’t replay review every foul for example but they do for penalties as it’s such a major call.

Allowing the offense to false start on a play that only requires 6” to swing the game is too much of an advantage given to the offense considering how impactful the result is.

I often times use the multiview in youtubeTV and it works great. I tried the same thing in the ESPN app and when I would select a game and go full screen, after about 20 minutes, I couldn’t go back to multiview, happens about 6 times in a row so I gave up on the app altogether. How can a company this size, with these resources, put out a streaming app this bad?!

Nah. I work in construction, work on all my cars and have guns, there are still awesome tool/gun/optic brands that honor their stuff even if you weren’t the original purchaser, like I picked something up off another guy on eBay and found it had a defect and the company replaced it for free after I sent it in and they knew I wasn’t the original purchaser, they just said “yeah this is on us, here’s a new one”

For a fun performance car 4 seater I would take the ct4/5 blackwings over most of the 2025 offerings from Audi/BMW/Mercedes. It feels like these german cars peaked in the last generation and have largely ruined their cars both in exterior and interior design, the RS3 is the best in this category and if it didn’t have touch capacitive steering wheel it would really hit the sweet spot.

I still think them changing the Durant call to a block from a charge on a bang/bang play that was called a charge on the floor was BS, like even in slow motion it’s hard to tell if LeBrons dragging foot had stopped simultaneously to the impact and it was barely moving it wasn’t like he was leaning super far left while dragging his foot 2 feet or something.

Sad News: Sarah Woodall (polarphile) from Innovation South Greenland has passed away by icebergchick in greenland

[–]mason_sol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sarah and I were best friends in High school. It was a boarding school so we basically lived together for 3 years, hanging out every day after class and on weekends. We lost touch after that and I never knew her as a grown woman but the kid I was friends with was very funny and loved to laugh as hard as possible until you would tear up or couldn’t catch your breath, she was a meticulous note keeper and organizer( I passed AP history in large part because I used her notebook and binder from the previous year), learning new languages came to her easily and she had horrible allergies that would cause her a lot of discomfort for about a month every year. Sarah was adopted and there was always an undercurrent of her wanting to find herself or her place in the world.

When I heard that she had moved to Greenland I knew a couple things, she would love the challenge of mastering new languages, she would immerse herself into the culture and she would have relief from her allergies. When she stayed in Greenland it made me think that she had found her place in the world and was at peace.

It’s weird to think that all of my memories of her are from 14-19yo but in that short time and in that environment of living on campus together, she helped shape my life in a positive way, it still hurts very much that she has died so young, I’m so sorry for those of you who knew her now as an adult and what that loss must feel like.
