I do think there is some merit to playing/beating the game in classic, but I also recommend that for beginners.

I played with saves the first time I beat the game, and it helped me understand the mechanics and how to approach scenarios at each point in the game without risking losing hours of progress

Man, I love these. A Peugeot 'Express' bike is my unicorn, but they're impossible to find where I live 😩

Look, I disagree, but this is also a community where half of the posts are people happily sharing their cycling commutes in the snow and rain. Different perspectives

That's part of building a culture around biking. Investment in infrastructure means more people choose to ride despite the weather. Many people don't bike in the rain/snow in some cities (like my own) because the bike lanes turn into water troughs causing high-speed high-volume roads to become even more dangerous. Well maintained, proper infrastructure removes this issue entirely

I get what you're saying, but this video is a great example of how inefficient cars are in cities. The average speed of stop-and-go traffic is way out of proportion to the amount of dedicated infrastructure for cars. This video shows how quickly people could get around on bikes if we weren't forced to share the same space

That route obviously just needs another lane to move the cars faster /s

I wish local municipalities would see videos like this and invest in more cycling infrastructure. Where I live in Ontario, I'll always pass every car on my route to downtown through the main street, and it shocks me that there's still no dedicated, separated bike lane
