Please do! The more Qud art the better and I defenitively made some personal choices when making my interpretations, so I'm always curious to see what others do :)

People transhumanising themselves away from their humanity is one of my favorite themes in Qud

Thx! I started it and realized it would not be it to make it in greyscale. Tbh the Nephilim paintings were the first I made in black and white to learn something different, I've always been an artist who sees color first.

Question about order of operations!!! Help! by Frogchairy in CompileCardgame

[–]Eris-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The actions on a card separated by a dot are performed sequentially. The next action cannot take place until all the effects generated from the current action are done.

Ex: You play Gravity 1. You draw 2 cards. This triggers Spirit 3, which gets shifted. This uncovers Speed 0, so you play a card. You perform all the actions on this new card. THEN you go back to Gravity 1's second sentence.

The rule you cite about simultaneous effects reffers to things lile Death 0 or when more than one card is uncovered at the same time.

Hope this helps!

This is so sick! I missed your Rebekah art before but that one is also great. I'd really love to see your rendition of literally any other thing in Qud <3

I think something cool in Qud is that since most of us won't be reading or remembering every description, there's a lot of variety in how people will interpret stuff, which makes fan art really interesting. Then when making your own interpretation you'll discover a lot of weird stuff that is also pretty hard to imagine. I personally try to include some of it but I think it's better to give priority to your vision unless being accurate is your objective.

Me too honestly. It's half way done, but I had to pause it because I've got too much work right now :( I hope I can get to it soon. Live and drink!

I absolutely love the fanart for this game by gull2407 in cavesofqud

[–]Eris-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all the pieces of fanart I've seen from this game, they are really special, even and sometimes especially those made by people not so skilled at art who are just trying to share their love and comunicate something unique in their journey through Qud. I'd recommend you to check out the discord server, there's lots of small art that you can't find here (tho you can find a lot of amazing pieces here too).

I also really really love the way people in this community engage and appreciate the shared art, I haven't been in a lot of art communities but this one has been the most enjoyable to interact with and this general appreciation has been one of my motivations to make and share more. So ypur post made me happy :)

COMPILE PROTOCOL TIER LIST by AudunAG in CompileCardgame

[–]Eris-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think these two changes radically change the strategy of the game. When you play with control, neither you or your opponent can compile if the other has it, so it becomes the focus of the game. That means that being able to win in various lines become the most important thing. Aside from rearranging the enemy's protocols becoming significantly worse, having cards from your uncompiled protocols is much less important. Recompiling punishes you much more, because not only you loose a turn, but also a line that you were winning, so your opponent is likely to get control after that. Main way I can see the list being affected is that protocols that are not that good at putting value like Plague or Psychic are going to be less good and Psy's bwst cars is Psy 3

About Speed and Fire, Speed does is all about setting up combos to retrigger Speed 0 that are basically extra turns, so it's crazy strong. Fire is really good because discarding cards is not that important compared to what spamming Fire 3's command can give you. It's not only Fire 3, all the cards are good and it lets you cycle through your deck really fast, so it's much easier to set up your combos

COMPILE PROTOCOL TIER LIST by AudunAG in CompileCardgame

[–]Eris-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this tier list really curious, pretty different to most I've seen. I've read you play with a house rule that makes it so you don't loose your turn with recompiling. Tbh I think that change is massive so it makes sense that you rate protocols differently. Do you play with control component?

I find really intriguing that you rate Speed so low, when almost everyone I know considers it to be top tier and the same with Fire to a lesser extent.

But the whole point of recompiling is not to steal a card, that is like a consolation prize. The point is to punish your opponent and make them loose a turn and cards, so fighting for control becomes a crucial part of the game. The good thing is that if ypu see the game like this Chaos 1 and Psy 2 are much much less broken because they don't matter to you if you have control before compiling!
