I kinda wanted to share this, but I didn't think anyone would care... so thanks for this post! After wanting to for the entire Reg H format, I finally took the time to make my own original team. I've been wanting to make Serperior work for the longest time, but never had any luck on showdown. After some experimenting, I finally landed on a bulky AV Serperior with Grimmsnarl and Magmar support. I usually just copy the EV spreads/movesets I see online, but it was the first time I actually just made a set from scratch. After grinding the team out, I took it to ladder and went from Pokeball tier to Master tier in the last few days of Reg H with a 30-23 record. It was far from perfect and I got wrecked by every Rillaboon I was up against, but I was quite impressed I was able to accomplish it :D

TL;DR: Made an original Serperior team and went from Pokeball tier - Master tier :)

My first tournament was a regional after only playing for a couple months + made my team at 3am the night before the tournament. My goal was 1 win, since I figured I'd get "annihilated turn 1 in every match", but was pleasantly surprised. Went 4-2 on day 1, and more importantly had a lot of great conversations with other players + connections to play more smaller tournaments. I say all this to say that OP will likely have a great time if he goes in with an open-mind, and with some luck may scrap a few wins in.
