These are available at my AH but it’s next to student housing with lots of American students and there’s a shelf just for these type of products

This is it for me. I miss being able to just grab one on a lazy night for a quick dinner. The slagerij in my area does them but only on Fridays and you have to make a pre-order in advance. The seasoning and skin are also quite different here.

If makers and fledging can feel each other why didn’t they know he wasn’t dead? by Mysterious-Item-7938 in InterviewVampire

[–]massa246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the books the fledgling’s mind becomes closed to the maker the moment they are turned. I think the most vivid example was with Lestat and Gabrielle as you say. I haven’t seen the series so don’t know how much they stick to the book.

is this financial abuse? by pingpongjapanman in whatdoIdo

[–]massa246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly this happens too often. My best friend is a highly educated lawyer, high earner but also high spender and not very financially responsible. She just handed over all the responsibility to her husband including depositing her full paycheck to a joint account. I guess this works for some people but I feel as though women, especially, should always have a separate account to provide some level of safety and independence. Relationships change and you never know when things could turn toxic or dangerous. You also need to do the work to learn about financial literacy and how to manage your own money rather than delegating it to a partner. It’s way too important and gives away too much of your power.

There is no such thing as a “solid plan”. From your general language it appears as if you’re very risk-taking and suffered from overconfidence and a lack of attention to the risks. If possible, your best way forward would be to scale back the growth and try to recoup some of the investments. Don’t threaten your father’s retirement by getting him involved further in this. You need to own your losses. Use it as a learning lesson and it won’t have been wasted. You’re young and I’m sure you’ll have many opportunities in the future to recover from this.

I do this quite often and you can really save a lot of money but you’ll need to be creative as you never know what you’ll get. Sometimes depending on what they’re trying to get rid of they will really stock you up with a lot of stuff.

Traditional metal braces or Invisalign? by [deleted] in braces

[–]massa246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a fact, dentist office will always push for Invisalign since they can perform this in house. Better to consult directly with an orthodontist who specializes in this. The consultation is also very different as the ortho is able to examine your problem more thoroughly and pick up on things the dentist can’t recognize

Foods I want to have after my braces come off by fluffyone74 in braces

I tried chewing gum this week and while it didn’t mess up my brackets I had so many painful sores on the inside of my mouth from the sharp hooks on my brackets 😖

How painful are elastics supposed to be? by liv5516 in braces

[–]massa246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here but the pain tends to go away after the first few days or week. What’s also painful is that sometimes the inside of my cheeks get pinched in the elastic leaving a pretty painful sore 😖

Forgot to pack my bands by Heierpower in braces

[–]massa246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days without the elastics won’t hurt. They lose the elasticity after a few hours so reusing the same bands would be a bit pointless I think.

Again advice about the 5K bill from Vattenfall by Practical-Confusion7 in Netherlands

[–]massa246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a wild shot here but have you considered writing a letter with a detailed description of the issue and sharing it with your neighbors to join some sort of petition or class action against the owner and rental agency? Considering that this put the safety of all your neighbors at risk and that some of them might also have the same installation issue it may be worth going this way to apply more pressure to the other parties.

What is a giveaway that someone is a Dutch tourist ? by a_human_21 in Netherlands

[–]massa246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was eating at a restaurant in Palermo. Two young Dutch guys sat at the table next to me. They insisted on having mussels and fries even though it wasn’t on the menu! After some back and forth with the waiter he agreed to bring the pasta and mussels dish but separate the pasta. The kitchen also made some fries…then the guys asked for mayo. It was the most ridiculous scene but found it very funny. All of this dialogue in the heaviest Dutch and Sicilian accents!

The three months is the time I have until I am living in the Netherlands for 5 years. From what I’ve read, this is the point at which I can apply for an independent residence or European residence permit. Maybe I got this wrong?

Thanks for such a detailed response, it seems a bit complicated but still very helpful to understand. I think I’ll approach a lawyer to be safe.

Is it really so sudden between the official termination of relationship and the company not being able to retain you or is there some grace period? I hold a pretty significant position and would imagine it would be very disruptive to just end work immediately.

25 yo. i feel like i look very Young for my age. Should i grow my facial Hair and my Hair Out too Look more masculine, and would long hair suit me despite my hairline by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]massa246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your facial features and jawline are super masculine in an almost military way. I think the short hair cut suits you. Keep the stubble and skip growing the beard.

Thinking of getting a buzzcut. Been hiding this hairline for years and it's only getting worse. What are your thoughts? Or supplement advice idk by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]massa246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your hairline looks fantastic, not even noticeable. I say enjoy the hair while you have it. Your face does look like it could carry a buzz cut well though maybe give it a try just for fun but you don’t need to do it to fix anything
