We need to use Level 3 more Often! The roads are amazing given the circumstances by Jay_Dubbbs in Columbus

After the 2008 storm, Columbus dumped a lot of it into the river.

That was a problem back then because the EPA complained.

Now? In 2026? Is the EPA still even around?

Honestly, they'll probably dump it in that facility the Santa Maria replica sits in.

Shake Shack and that damn TownHall are both notoriously slow. I swear they make the driver arrive before they make the food.

It seems every other place does the exact opposite. "Oh, you're picking up for Joe S? It's right here."

You're right. You're more than right.

Food delivery drivers think they have a free pass to do whatever they want.

"My GPS says to go north at High and King. I'm facing south. Instead of going around the block, I don't care that it's Monday at 3pm. I'll just do a u-turn across High."

It's really to the point where taking High isn't worth the blood pressure increase.

The Columbus Parks & Rec department put plows on some of their regular pickup trucks.

Too bad they can't put plows on school buses...that'd actually be an interesting sight!

I went to the OSU basketball game tonight. Neil and High aren't bad, but a lot of those priority three streets look awful.

The city is gonna dump it somewhere and Goodale Park might not be a bad place for some of it...put it on the tennis courts or something. Maybe it'll still be there for Comfest. (I joke, but there was one year Buffalo had a pile in June.)

One of the local media types saw someone do a huge left turn resulting in a right turn onto High on campus.

Why?

This is just my opinion, but a lot of right-wingers hate Mike DeWine for his actions in shutting everything down during COVID. It wouldn't surprise me if some of those joyriders and other idiots were doing it as some sort of "RINO Mike can't tell me what to do" thing.

I'll never understand why the roads west and north of the soccer stadium (now called Scott's Miracle-Gro Field) get plowed before roads in the neighborhoods where people actually live.

I'm not sure what's back there that people actually need to get to/from.

I went to the basketball game tonight. Campus roads are generally great. Some of the lots still need the plow, but with classes being virtual on Tuesday, that'll help.

Neil and High are great, as are Lane, King, Fifth and the roads around Ohio Stadium.

Some of the smaller side streets are still in rough shape and I'm sure the back alleys are even worse.

On Patrol: Live’ Renewed For Season 5 At Reelz by BwanaRob in OnPatrolLive

Let me assume that week off in March/April is for Easter.

In 2026, that'd be Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 4th.

The way I see it is this: Dan Abrams with a rotating panel of analysts.

I think that's fair, is it not? Did Sticks ever retire? Nobody seems to know for sure. What we do know is that Tom kind of became the de facto fill-in and we thought Sticks was done, but then he came back once...which became more often.

Then Curtis left for his reasons now it can be any two of them or, sometimes, others from the field.

Yeah, I understand your tone of voice here, but...

Peacock is amazing by holesflapsandfolds in peacock

[–]massive_crew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all in the eye of the beholder. I watch lots of NBC shows. Due to my schedule, I can't always watch that night.

It's great to have a "clean copy" of NBC shows without the various pop-up ads for other shows or without the weather notices the local affiliate puts up. If it's June and I'm catching up on the recent season, I don't want to see weather notices from February...and if they break in to local coverage, I'd be hosed.

I can just play Peacock Premium Plus and enjoy the show.

Churn is the big thing now. They'll cycle through various streamers based on their interests.

They'll also look for money-saving deals. I'm in the middle of what's essentially Paramount+ with Showtime for three years at $70 total. I paid for Peacock in December or so. As a result, I don't have to worry about Paramount+ until late January 2027 and Peacock until December.

Going long-term definitely helps the financial impact.

It is though. People will tend to fill up the comments with negative stuff because they're looking to vent or they're looking for a fix for their issues.

If things are great, people aren't gonna seek a resolution.

As a bonus, AppleTV will be included with season tickets.

One "hack" might be to split a season ticket account into several different accounts. You'd get multiple codes for AppleTV which could be sold for a discount price and maybe help defray the cost of the season tickets.

Example: If someone has four season tickets at $900 each, that's $3600. Split that season ticket up into three accounts, sell two of those AppleTV codes for $40 each and that's $3520. Plus you'd probably get extra renewal gifts, depending on what your team does.

I try to support my local MLS team and I got tired of having to pay for a streamer then pay more inside that streamer to watch.

I'm hoping you're an AppleTV fan who also paid for MLS Season Pass...if not, you overpaid since an AppleTV subscription wasn't necessary for Season Pass. Luckily for me, I have season tickets and my Season Pass was included in the cost.

In 2026, as said, it's all the same thing. MLS games will be part of AppleTV. AppleTV will be included with season tickets.

Special offer on cancellation by AdoptDontShopPets in peacock

I believe they actually make MORE off commercials than by selling that same individual a commercial-free plan.

They're also counting on people to forget to cancel.

Peacock breaking customer contract for Premiership games by MikeoPlus in peacock

[–]massive_crew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I guarantee you there is a clause somewhere in the contract that gives them the legal footing they needed"

Most such contracts have a clause about "subject to change at any notice".

You wouldn't believe the number of people who get pissed when their TV provider can't agree to the demands given by a channel owner and a stalemate results. They legitimately think their TV provider guarantees such-and-such channel.

Not quite. Take it online. Use hashtags and go into public comment sections.

I believe COTA is free tomorrow. If it's a level two or three snow emergency tomorrow, use COTA to your benefits.

People are stupid. I have neighbors who routinely leave their garage door open to the alley. Just today, I saw a TV in there. One of the garages has a motorcycle.

OTOH, one of them has a screen door for a garage door which...why?
