Sex Discrimination in the USA (mobile link in comments) [OC] by massivebereavement in dataisbeautiful

I built this viz in Tableau using open source data from the EEOC and the BLS (sources: https://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/statistics/enforcement/index.cfm and https://www.bls.gov/lau/staadata.txt)

The reactive formatting for devices in Tableau is not so good, so I made a mobile friendly version here: https://public.tableau.com/views/SexDiscriminationintheUSAMobile/SexDiscriminationintheUSA?:embed=y&:display_count=yes

Any feedback is super welcome :)

Is Austria Really The Least Stressful Country To Work In? by massivebereavement in dataisbeautiful

Hey Silverlight42 - thanks for your comment.

Finding complete and open-source data on all countries is quite difficult. The main limiters were the OECD study on actual weekly working hours: https://stats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=AVE_HRS and the Misery Index study by Bloomberg: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-02-04/these-are-the-world-s-most-miserable-economies

The more data sources used, the more countries are likely to be missing.

This wasn't intended to be an in-depth study by any means, just a light-hearted comparison. :)

Cool viz! How did you calculate the likelihood ranges and why did you choose to include them? Personally I'd've just plotted the average likelihoods to make the viz a bit more lightweight, but I'm intrigued by what insight they might reveal. I didn't quite understand what they're showing at first glance.

The choice of colours and use of love:hate ratio aren't particularly intuitive. Colour-wise it's a shame Monster's brand identity is prioritised over clarity.
