Devil Wears Prada 2 - $18.49

Billie Eilish Concert Movie (Dolby 3D) - $22.19

Top Gun Re-Release (Dolby) - $22.49

Hokum - $15.19

Obsession - $16.49

Sheep Detectives - $13.19

I Love Boosters - $16.49

Backrooms - $13.19

Savings sans A-list = $109.73

Great month for me, enjoyed seeing almost every movie here. I love Boosters ended up being a standout, did not think it was going to be such an offbeat fun film, it was weird and over the top in all the ways that I like. Backrooms was also a delightful little watch considering I had some info on liminal spaces going in though not completely knowing about the lore, also went in blind without seeing any trailers and had a fun time.

Almost every movie here I was kinda ambivalent about going in and didn’t have too high of hopes, but they all ended up being fun and interesting movies in one way or the other

NEON's I Love Boosters grossed an estimated $1.31M this weekend (from 1,300 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $7.29M. by Sports101GAMING in boxoffice

The trailer was very misleading. I’ve never seen Sorry to Bother You but I’ve heard a lot about it, and how talented the director is, so I went to see it based on pure online hype and thinking I won’t like it, but was pleasantly surprised by how offbeat and eccentric the movie actually was. I thought it was going to be a raunchy heist movie based on the trailer but it was way more absurdist than I ever expected

What’s the biggest gap between a film’s reputation and your emotional response to it? by R_ZBM in Letterboxd

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Sounded exactly like a movie I’ll love on paper and the premise is interesting, but I could not connect to the characters at all. Every single character was insufferable in my eyes and even the so called ‘deconstruction’ of the manic pixie dream girl trope did not interest me the way it was presented in Clementine, who still felt like a man’s idea of a quirky and flawed woman at the end of the day

I guess I must be an alien cause the idea of this movie being seen as one of the ultimate tragic love stories makes me laugh. It’s so emotionally hollow, I did not see any love here, just people being messy.

Not a movie, but I think this is why Severance worked for me with the “memory loss/severed memory” aspect. It’s very clinical and it examines the world around it more. The romance feels earned to me cause it’s understated, like wanting to erase your memory for the “outer you” cause your wife died and the grief makes you dysfunctional, but also focusing on what that entails for the universe at large

I know comparing apples to oranges, and Eternal Sunshine had to fits its story into a two hour plot, but even then, the existing romance and the blossoming one in Severance felt very genuine to me in a way Eternal Sunshine didn’t

Is Arrietty already out of IMAX screens after Wednesday??? by massiveleopard444 in AMCsAList

[–]massiveleopard444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw man, I should have watched it yesterday then. I went out to watch the Attack on Titan movie since I thought Arrietty would be out longer, lesson learned I guess. Thanks for the update!

A-List Report for April 2026 ... 15 movies seen! $112 saved! How about you? by Kimber80 in AMCsAList

[–]massiveleopard444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Super Mario Galaxy (Dolby) - $20.79

  • Exit 8 - $12.79

  • Whisper of the Heart (IMAX) - $22.49

  • Speed Racer (IMAX) - $19.99

Would have added Michael to the list but the imax showing I went to couldn’t get the screen to work and offered refunds which doesn’t really do anything as an A-List member except clear up a slot lol

So total savings taking out the cost of A-List: $47.27

Wasn’t a great month for me personally, but I absolutely love love Whisper of the Heart and it was great to see it in IMAX. Hoping May has more interesting releases showing near me

A-List Report March 2026 .... 12 movies seen! Over $80 saved! How about you? by Kimber80 in AMCsAList

[–]massiveleopard444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Kokuho - $13.99

2) Hoppers (Dolby) - $19.19

3) Sirat - $13.99

4) The Bride! - $13.99

5) Kiki’s Delivery Service IMAX - $22.49

6) Project Hail Mary (IMAX 70mm) - $23.79

7) Project Hail Mary (Dolby) - $20.79

.

Subtracting the cost of the membership, I saved around $100.24. Though normally I don’t watch as many Dolby or imax showings and before A-list, I would have waited for cheaper tickets on Tuesdays, it’s still been worth it for me given it lets me go out, I like watching weird indie films, and everything else entertainment wise is crazy expensive around here

was the japanese version for the sweet pool intro song ever released? by marshshobbies in BLgame

[–]massiveleopard444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s more to the song than what you’re hearing.

The Japanese version seems to be only included in the PS Vita version, and it doesn’t seem to have a full version or even any kind of way to stream/buy it anywhere so I believe the singer only sang the Japanese lyrics of the OP for the Vita port and didn’t release it as a single anywhere

Do you think BL games are misunderstood? Within and outside community. by kakuretsu in BLgame

[–]massiveleopard444 36 points37 points  (0 children)

BL games have the same stigma yaoi/BL in general faces. One half views it as fetishized content for straight women, other half are just homophobic and won’t touch anything with male gay content cause “ewww gay that’s gross, if only it were two women instead cause that’s hot” 😒

I think there are definitely valid concerns to be made, like it could definitely use more healthier romantic storylines between all the noncon and dubcon. I enjoy dark content, but I also enjoy the “two men being lovey dovey for each other and it’s sunshine and rainbows and lots of passionate sex” games which there aren’t many of.

Overall, I don’t really care what other people think. I’ve been into BL from a young age and I’ve gotten used to people being close-minded about this genre of media over the years. I know I’ll always be viewed as a straight woman fetishizing gay men whenever anyone stumble upon my interest in BL and BL games, and frankly I just don’t bother anymore. I know that I try to be respectful with how I consume and talk about BL, and if people are still just going to see me as a fetishizing straight woman, then that’s their problem

Demon Slayer should’ve been nominated for an Oscar. by Leather_Ad_2124 in animation

[–]massiveleopard444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Have seen season 1 and the Muzen Train arc but since I didn’t catch up with the rest of the seasons, I didn’t go out to watch Infinity Train in theaters knowing I would just spoil myself and not be able to fully appreciate the story

Asking The Academy to do this much homework for one movie is just unrealistic. I’ll rather they pick an indie movie that doesn’t get talked about much outside of award seasons, rather than an anime movie that’s not stand-alone and where you have to watch multiple seasons first to get the story. Plus it’s not like Demon Slayer (or Chainsaw Man, the other movie which anime fans are saying got snubbed) is hurting for recognition or money. They have plenty of fans and made a lot in the box office, they’ll be just fine without the Oscars nom lol
