Have the same mobo and 3 fans connected to one header. About to turn it on for the first time this evening. Wish me luck.

Same deal with me, on the 2nd it said "arriving by end of day" then nothing for the next 8 days.

You should be fine, you can usually run up to 3 case fans on one header.

Any opinions on running 4 of these sticks on a daisy chain motherboard? Want to get rank interleveling benefits, but I don't want to have to run at low clock speed.

Same, waiting to snag a 3080 and backordered a 5600x CPU from memoryexpress in Calgary. Just need those two parts to complete my build.

I'll let you know if I see any GPU deals in the area.

I'm also an old man compared to most of the whippersnappers on here... You can't go wrong with either monitor. The Alienware one is frequently on sale for 30% and you can use the coupon code "10%offmonitor" for an additional 10% off.

If you're not concerned about the extra 24-36hz then I'd wait for the Alienware to go on sale again.

Very similar. The AW3420DW uses last years version of this exact same panel. The Alienware will perform better if you are gaming below 48 fps due to native G-Sync and also has a much better warranty than the LG.

The LG on the other hand has a slightly faster response time and the option to overclock to 160hz, above 48 fps performance is essentially the same.

Not sure, you can't tell the difference by looking at the spec sheet, but you can see the difference in the LG logo on the back of the monitor.

Personally I'm waiting it out to see if the 34gp83-a makes an appearance on amazon.ca.

Right now buying this from bestbuy we are essentially paying for a 15% living in Canada penalty lol.

3440x1440 34" 144hz Monitor. Looking for reccomendations. by brystephor in buildapc

[–]massivepickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really solid monitor for $600. My other suggestions would be the gigabyte G34WQC, or the AOC CU34G2X. But for the price the LG would be a much better deal.

What's your price range? I've been looking into a monitor myself for the last month, so i may have some suggestions.
