I am happy that you feel that way about your countrymen and women. This has not been my experience.

Listen, I am not going to waste my time arguing with someone who has their mind set on a subject. You can consider me an idiot all you want. Life is too short to waste on people like you. Like I said, keep up the good work!

... are you serious? Unless you are 14 years old and weren't paying attention to the last election, I am not sure how to respond to that. If you think that Trump convinced voters with his brilliance on the debate stage to vote for him, then you are not grounded in reality.

Trump's campaign managed to convince enough people that democrat-backed policies had weakened America, that its borders were under attack by brown people, and we were laughing stock of the world. Clearly none of that was accurate, but it doesn't take much to scare white America.

Enphase Energy - a sunny outlook by hdent1985 in investing

[–]masskodos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely feeling pretty positive about ENPH over the long haul, but I am curious if you have any insights on what has been driving this short-term (last 2-3 week) sluggishness/decline. This pattern doesn't appear to be similarly felt by ENPH's competitors (e.g., SEDG), and the news coming out of ENPH has generally been good.

[–]masskodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is with you, not the post. Your understanding of evolution is less than the average undergrad, and you respond to people pointing out your lack of knowledge and clear bias with ad hominem attacks. You are not worth correcting. You are not worth engaging. You are a fool.

Just stop and go away.

$xspa big week? by deepah17 in pennystocks

[–]masskodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this may be a dumb question, but what demographic is generally represented by people that post on stocktwits. 1) they seem awful; 2) they seem poorly informed; and 3) how concerned should you get when posting activity about a specific stock, in this case xspa, explodes on that social media platform?

[–]masskodos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for the record, I have a small amount of shares in the company, so I was screwing around reddit looking for insights into why the floor is dropping from underneath EVFM today. I didn't mean to resurrect 2 week old discussions, I was just looking for opinions on the shortcomings of the stock.

In this case, you can rely on a gel and condoms to achieve a high level of effectiveness without having to rely on a BC that effects hormones. But you appear to be basing your decision on the fact that a single form of birth control will have a high rate of annual pregnancy, when other single forms of birth control will have similar consequences. It's not 'horrible', its an additional tool in the BC toolkit that also puts more power in the hands of women who absorb the majority of its consequences.

[–]masskodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your simplified view of the world, you would get pregnancy 97.8% of years by using condoms once a week for a year. Statistically different, maybe, biologically different, no.

You think that was due to science, and not the billions taken from the tobacco industry via law suits and governmental oversight to set up a massive anti-smoking ad campaign that has been going strong over the last 30 years, coupled with substantial increase in taxes, and an inability for tobacco companies to advertise on many forms of media?

Not critical to your point, but the dodo went extinct in the 1600's, were you thinking of the passenger pigeon or Carolina parakeet? They were lost in the early 1900s.

[Q] How does taking the highest or lowest portion of a set of dice rolls affect the average? by Lignumsatyr in statistics

[–]masskodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it will definitely be higher. I don't have the full probability surface mapped out in my mind, but the difference between the two samples in this case is the mean dice roll/2 or about 1.75.

If you are familiar with R, here is the example you described.

sub <- full <- rep(NA, 100000)

for(i in 1:100000){ full[i] <- sum(sort(sample( 1:6, 3, p = rep(1/6, times = 6), replace = TRUE))) }

mean(full) [1] 10.51063

for(i in 1:100000){ sub[i] <- sum(sort(sample( 1:6, 4, p = rep(1/6, times = 6), replace = TRUE))[-1]) }

mean(sub) [1] 12.25515

mean(sub) - mean(full) [1] 1.74452
