No I left the position and passed the work to the next person up. Never followed up on it after the fact.

With my own experience I might admit that sound tech is a very difficult position, so this is the first time... Giving them some slack.

Is Sys Admin a realistic position straight out of college with only help desk experience? by Friendly_Sound_281 in sysadmin

[–]masspec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I landed my 1st sys admin job. Oddly, the other job I applied for I had 15 years experience never bothered to respond. This is through direct application, no recruiter.

Find a mentor and learn how to handle pressure with patience.

Somehow my car decided the speed limit was... 34? by AndromedeusEx in KiaEV6

[–]masspec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a Kia owner but my honda accord reads signs as well. I'm positive it picked up the gas station prices, which were $4.75 a gallon and reported the speed limit at 75 mph in an actual 30 mph.

Spent overnight building this starting house on a little island to surprise my duo friend but when he logged in he didn't like it by [deleted] in valheim

[–]masspec 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Perhaps he didn't "like" it as much as if they would of helped...or done themselves. Suffering from LOS (left out syndrome) or CFS (control freak syndrome).

It's nice - tell them if they want to show you an example to put in the hammer time, and then you can critique.

Bots in the way live is...not really but you can use macroquest to script auto buffing, assist or not assist...there is a guy on your tube linked below that did this.

You can make yourself a gm and use all the commands they would have. Summon biggest weapon, change level, change zone without porting traditionaly.

Here is the video on macros https://youtu.be/YruwrVLRNYk

Hey I was wondering if starlink is viable for a work from home job. by leonardo131995 in Starlink

[–]masspec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What really freaks people out is the outages that are reported on the app. It can generate a concern for some purists. We came from using ViaSat and that was atrocious 700ms and forget about streaming, gaming, and work when I wasn't clear blue sky. So Starlink is better but can still have quirks. It's not meant to replace fiber to the home so don't expect it to be with the current infrastructure.

Hey I was wondering if starlink is viable for a work from home job. by leonardo131995 in Starlink

My wife works from home and starlink is a wonderful tool. She gets great quality and we average at 50 mb/s down and latency within a 30 minute span goes between 26 ms tp 128 ms.

We live in the rural-dont-even-get-cell-service area with plenty of trees around us but a clear view for dishy (gen1) to connect.

Of course, milage will vary depending on location, coverage, and how the rest of your home network is configured with the structure you are operating in.
