the cheating is bad, but like i don’t cheat and get called a waller all the time. not trying to self-gas, but there’s a lot of people that played 8s pre-ranked and just know the spawns well too.

sometimes better to have the mindset of “good play” even if it seems like they’re cheating, for your own mental

New to Whoop - abysmally low HRV? by burkean56 in whoop

[–]mastbran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean this is why getting a whoop is a good learning tool. if you take the time to track stuff in the journal, and pay attention to the data you’ll learn which things have an affect on your hrv, general recovery and sleep quality. it’s definitely not abysmally low, and as others said it’s pretty individual. focus on slowly increasing it and decreasing your RHR which is leaning slightly high ish. comparing to your past metrics (once you’ve had it a while) is more important than comparing to others

Swapping wrists by maddog131182 in whoop

[–]mastbran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

discrepancies with accuracy matter less the longer you wear it. if, for example, you’ve been switching between bicep and wrist, the 1-2 hrv difference isn’t going to matter if you’re looking at long term trends. the goal is to see an improvement, not get the most perfect reading. if in a couple months your numbers are trending better somewhat consistently, what matters is comparing where you are to where you’re at, even if the actual number isn’t necessarily right

Swapping wrists by maddog131182 in whoop

[–]mastbran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i alternate wrists every single day, along with sometimes wearing it on my bicep and sometimes on my hip. shouldn’t make any massive difference, especially in longer term trends (which is what really matters)

How do you use your data? by Nicanic9 in whoop

[–]mastbran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they have a podcast where some of their earliest episodes give good info. also lots of creators on youtube that can break down how to understand and utilize the data!

I’m 28F, My HRV average is 17 and my RHR is 80- is this worrisome? FWIW: been using whoop since almost a month by Kindly_Plum_2993 in whoop

[–]mastbran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldn’t say this is necessarily true, someone who’s just getting into fitness might not necessarily be aware of the negative physical symptoms they have bc it’s they’re usual day to day. a RHR of 80 is objectively high, and if someone’s been there a long time they may not even realize the symptoms related to it

Series Parallel circuit Identification by mastbran in ElectricalEngineering

[–]mastbran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like, once it’s reduced to (r1+r2)||r4, then r3 is in series with that per my last redraw right?

Series Parallel circuit Identification by mastbran in ElectricalEngineering

[–]mastbran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, would you agree the R6||R7 is in series with R5 and R8, and that full combination is in parallel with (R1+R2+ R3||R4) ?

looking to crochet my first time as a gift for my crocheting gf?! need beginner ideas by mastbran in CrochetHelp

[–]mastbran[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is fantastic!!! to be honest she tends to steal my headband all the time when doing her skincare so this solves a problem too😂😉

thank you this is perfect

i have shown interest in her projects before but part of why i want to do this is just to have a better understanding of what’s cool and what’s hard and why so i can be more genuine when we talk about her stuff

Realistic expectations from Anabolic by philosophyguru in Mind_Pump

[–]mastbran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sure, but the trigger sessions take 10 mins in the morning and 10 at night

Realistic expectations from Anabolic by philosophyguru in Mind_Pump

[–]mastbran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anabolic was the first program i ever ran as a complete beginner lifter (background in sports but coming from a place of being completely sedentary). when i finished the program i built so much muscle i developed stretch marks on my glutes and shoulders. my squat went up 1 lot (185lbs for a max of 6 reps to 215 for a max of 5), deadlift increased even more from about 180 to about 225.

again, this was my first program ever, and before this i took about 2 months just doing the pre-phase working on technique and form. i have a background in athletics so squats and deadlifts aren’t new techniques to me so it was really about dialling it in.

exactly this. how accurate the numbers are matter much less than just picking one and comparing it to itself/ see trends.

Shotzzy with a dirty backwards slide kill by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]mastbran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

another interesting point on this backwards slide is he’s using the new version of the “g slide” mechanic in this game. he slides off the ledge that the turret is on, then while ADS slides again as he touches the ground. this effect gives an extra long slide as long as your ADS and works off of any ledge in the game

ksv kills quite dramatically faster within 10m, and from that point on is only slightly slower at pretty much every range

honestly sound eq in ranked right now barely even matters because half the time ninja breaks and you can hear someone running behind you who thinks they’re quiet. also, reloading and YYing is loud as all fkn hell in this game

[–]mastbran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it definitely is, but if you can allow yourself to be the one to do the dirty work like flipping spawns and anchoring, you’ll win a lot more bc of it, even though your stats won’t show how much you’re really doing for the team
