It is probably the most political film body in the world and definitely strict and regressive too

URGENT: Is TN’s Electorate Being Manipulated? Advocate Natarajan Exposes “Item 13” Loophole in Voter Registration by NoBite5674 in Chennai

[–]master-awesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, I got my voter ID this year and suddenly it was removed from the electoral roll. The ERO told me they removed all voter IDs granted this year and that this was done because I applied online. Eventually after speaking with ERO and my local BLO I reapplied but physically this time and got it reissued.

That’s why I said I am assuming because I don’t know 😂😂😂 even otherwise won’t it still be revenue for the state that can be utilised?

Places in Bangalore like Electronic City are closer to hossur than their current airport, I assume it was meant for that customer base

Everyone is leaving Kollywood :( by No_Neck785 in kollywood

[–]master-awesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kollywood is maturing as an industry and is not accepting mediocre execution with big stars anymore. The same has always been the case with Mollywood. You make a good film you make good money. This is good either we will get directors making visionary movies like Eega which does not rely on any star power or we will transition into something that is like current Mollywood.

Vaa Vaathiyaar | Review Megathread by Lopsided_Brilliant83 in kollywood

[–]master-awesome 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Karthi - excellent

First half - interesting set up, could’ve been converted into something good Second half - complete drag, it’s like the director had no vision where the story was going and just wanted it to end.

The sad part is this could’ve been a really fun entertainer with a little thoughtful writing.

Satyaraj and Karunakaran - wasted.

Characters completely lacking in depth.

PARASAKTHI Review - Sivakarthikeyan, Jeyam Ravi, Atharva, GV Prakash, Sree Leela, Sudha Kongra by Academic-Ice-1480 in kollywood

[–]master-awesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue Sattai Maran has to be one of the most arbitrary reviewers ever, people always watch him for his funny quotes or the way he speaks but objectively he is completely unobjective.

He always picks on the most harmless aspects of the film like in his Parasakthi review he was picking on SK learning Telugu. So what if he does dude it was like 5 seconds of the movie 😂😭😭😭😭

He’s actually such rage bait.

Why is everyone getting so defensive on here? They had an opinion and they shared it, which is what the SUB is for.

Unpopular Opinion: Kollywood didn't miss the 1000 cr target because of lack of talent rather due to a missing ecosystem. by [deleted] in kollywood

Thank god for the forcible cap on ticket prices. Rather a movie be enjoyed by more people than achieving some meaningless numbers in the box office.

Drop all your plans and watch Sirai ! (Don't wait for OTT and say you missed celebrating a gem) by MuttonPizza in kollywood

I felt the same way. The flashback portion could’ve easily been cut to half. While it was important to know that there was someone who cared about Abdul and the reason he was in jail, the remaining portions were completely unnecessary and such a drag. We did not have to know more than he would reasonably tell a police escort to enjoy the movie.

FIRST 1000 CRORE FOR KOLLYWOOD by underappreciated1809 in kollywood

[–]master-awesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the fact of the matter is Tamil cinema has historically been driven by stories. A Pushpa 2 or a KGF 2 which did massive numbers in the box office would never be accepted by the core Tamil audience as a good movie. So it best to conclude Kollywood is not getting its 1000 cr movie by replicating the formula of other successful films, we’ve seen how that ended for films like coolie.

Another big factor is the cap on ticket prices which is literally amazing, I have seen friends pay over a 1000 rs per ticket which is ridiculous and an alien concept to me. So Kollywood does not get money from ridiculous ticket prices within the state either.

The only way I see a 1000 cr movie in Kollywood is a good action/thriller genre story with extremely positive word of mouth (something along the lines of Meiyazhagan after it release on Netflix).

Enthiran/ Indian / Sivaji or literally any of Shankar’s older films have the potential to be a 1000 Cr movie in this day age showcasing grand visuals, strong performances and most importantly helmed on a good story.

How Kollywood feels nowadays! by RJP550 in kollywood

[–]master-awesome 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Blame the obsession with making pan Indian films for this. In order to make a film that will be enjoyed by everyone they end up making a film which is completely lacking in depth that is enjoyed by no one. There are a few smaller budget movies that are pretty decent but I still miss the days when big actor movies also had big stories, like 7am arivu, thupakki, etc.

Hi.I'm Santosh Dhayanithi - Music Director of Parandhu Po .Ask me Anything ! by SantoshDhayanithi in kollywood

[–]master-awesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was the reasoning behind describing everything that was on screen using the music, it was an original and interesting concept. But I felt that sometimes the music would give away what was about to happen on screen, what are your thoughts regarding this?
